Yep
Pierre was a loss but as long as brees is around they have enough leadership there

Just can't pay a lot for a guy who could no longer stay on the field on 3rd down. His cover skills while never good got steadily worse these last two years.
Wonder if Saints left door for him to come back?

I guess you all don't get it. MLB is the captain of the team... Calls out the plays.. Notices audibles and such. Nah, I'm overreacting to losing that person with no answer. Some you have no clue about football.
It seems he failed somewhat in that regard.

I just do not like the direction the Saints are going... We are all in for Bree's last couple years but we keep hoping the draft is the answer when the saints have been been pretty bad at the last couple of years.

They were terrible at on the field adjustments.

Look in the mirror. And yes, you are overreacting. Its football man. Nobody kicked your dog.

This is truth. Loomis is basically a glorified accountant/legal counsel hybrid. He makes the numbers work within the rules...and thats it

Leaders?
Cam Jordan? Byrd? KV? Lewis? Hicks? Haralson?
Lewis and Byrd both said they weren't vocal leaders last year. Scratch them.
Vaccaro was begging for leadership last year so doubt he's ready to step up and provide it. Scratch him.
Rotational LB probably not the best to be leader of our D so no Haralson. Scratch him.
Hicks is up and down so far in his career and Jordan was last season. So we'll see on them.

He'll go back to Atlanta. The need LBs pretty bad too.
No. Not after talking shite about our organization.
Plus, he'd just be a backup behind our current mlb.

Not a surprise move.
Did you know he was not playing for us at that price?
Do you know if he turned down a new contract at a much lower price?
Do you know if he tries and fails in the FA market he will work out a cheaper contract to return to the Saints?

Let's not act like they're all misses:
KV
Stills
Armstead
Hicks
Cooks
etc
We'll see what happens

Dude I was just saying that we have guys that can step up and become leaders. And yea some of those guys struggled for us last year, but so did Lofton. According to PFF, he graded out as our worst defender, 57/60 out of ILB, and led ILBs in missed tackles.
You can teach someone to be more vocal and there are different types of leaders. Some lead by example, some are vocal, some lead by work ethic, film room, etc.
Releasing Lofton was necessary.

Yeah, he sounds like he doesn't know what he's doing. Yet, a billionaire is entrusting not one, but two professional franchises to him.

Interesting....

I don't think Loomis would still have a job if Payton didn't want him.
Posted on 3/9/15 at 4:32 pm to HollierThanThou
Evan Woodberry on Twitter was saying Lofton was terminated w/ failed physical on transaction wire.
nice way of saying good bye?

I don't have a link but i'm pretty sure when negotiating his current contract Payton included a clause protecting Loomis.

Looks like his dead money is still hitting our cap in its entirety.
quote:
TheSaintsBeat: Because Lofton doesn't appear to be designated as post-June 1 release, #Saints will count entire $5M in dead money against '15 cap.
