OBJ or Landry?

Better fit for the Saints?

Either one honestly. Backham has the breakaway speed and return ability. Landry is a damn physical WR though and will outmuscle anyone for the ball
We could use either

I would love Sammy Watkins & I think he's an immediate impact player but the organization cannot afford to trade away picks. The combination of moving up to get Ingram & losing back to back 2nd rounders from the Bounty sanctions have seriously hurt in replenishing youthful talent. Whether anyone is a Ingram fan or not, as of now, the team hasn't gotten 1st round value after moving up to get him.

Great post.

As talented as both Beckham & Landry are, I say neither. The offense needs someone who can physically win outside of the numbers with either speed or strength. Sammy Watkins & Mike Evans fit those molds but will be gone before the Saints selection which is why I'm on the Kelvin Benjamin bandwagon.

By getting a receiver like, that adds a legitimate threat on the outside who can make crucial catches on 3rd down & in the redzone.

A receiver that caliber can also draw safety coverage over to his side of the field opening up the middle of the field for guys like Graham & Colston. That would also led to favorable one on one matchups for the receiver lined up on the opposite side whether it be Stills or Morgan.

We need a WR. Someone who can get a few extra yards after contact. We're too old and slow.

I'm pretty sure Kelvin Benjamin is going to blow up in the combine, he won't fall past top 15

Barring him running a 4.4 or below, he should still be there. Sammy Watkins, Marquise Lee & Mike Evans will go off the board before Benjamin does. You also have to factor in the teams ahead of the Saints don't all have needs at receiver.

If we really do target a WR, Carolina being behind us now is big, they'll almost certainly grab the top rated WR

somebody is going to drool over having a 6'6'' receiver, even if they don't need one.

The one knock on him..

Both he and Mike Evans are RS SO.

Evans just turned 20. Benjamin will be 23 in a month.

Both high risk/high reward players imo.

sammy watkins is good no doubt, but this isnt the draft to trade up and grab a WR.

I don't doubt that but there will also be teams like Cleveland, Detroit, Arizona & Chicago, picking before the Saints do who already have this caliber receiver on their rosters.

True.

Who would have thought Tavon Austin was going top 10 around this time last year?

but who doesn't want to imitate what Chicago has done with their receiving corps.

Could you imagine if Detroit had Megatron and KB?

That would be sick to cover.

All I'm saying is that there are always a few surprises on draft day, some teams draft bpa, not by needs

I trust environment of the locker room in helping mold a young player into a professional. Same goes for the stability that the front office brings to forefront.

On the field, Benjamin would have a chance to be star in Payton's offense & would be an immediate matchup problem by just stepping on the field. I also like the potential he brings when it comes to opening up the field for other receivers.

True. The saddest part about that though is it probably wouldn't prevent Stafford from throwing beau coup interceptions.

I would like to see the Saints get another Corner and WR. OBJ would be a great fit.

I see Benjamin as an Alshon Jeffery clone.

The question surrounding him will be his speed and ability to separate against NFL-fast defenders. He had trouble separating against Auburn in the championship. If he's big, but can't separate, then you've got a huge project and that's not something the Saints need with their 1st pick.

Watkins, Evans, and Lee won't be there when we pick either.

Beckham and Landry aren't 1st round caliber players.
