Payton is a planner. He has to have someone in mind already. This is pretty quick.

Ha! Anyone think that the Saints firing Spages forced the Rams hand to scoop up Ryan really quick?
It's not like they would hire Spagnuolo........

Todd Grantham at Georgia is a name to watch here too imo.

My guess is SP would NOT have announced the switch unless they already have who they wanted lined up. Him and Loomis are too saavy not to do this. Apparently they didn't want Ryan. I'm guessing it's Romeo.

derp I forgot about Crennel.

I think he'd be good as long as he's mentally capable. I know he had a hard time after the situation during the season.

Not a good move, a GREAT MOVE

Fat Will Smith should be happy about this move because it actually gives him a chance to stay on the roster next season.

Cam is built for a 3-4 end, Hicks too, and this assures that Ellis is gone hopefully

Only thing that worries me is that with LSU running a 4-3, then we won't be drafting any D-Linemen from LSU

:sarcasm:

Yep. Otherwise, why would he already announce the switch to 3-4?

I'd like him or Singletary, but I have a feeling it might not be either of them.

Getting Crennel will make Tony Dungy giddy with excitement.

2 days and he fired a dc and hired Romeo

Not buying it.

If he does in fact already have a replacement it is an out of work NFL defensive coach or a college coordinator

Love that we are going to a 3-4 but feel pretty bad about the move.

Spags had a couple of opportunities and picked us. He was put in an extremely unenviable position and was a complete pro. I only wish the best for him.

Same here. No hard feelings, but props to SP. he's hungry for a Lombardi and he's not fricking around.

I hope not, unless he has NFL DC experience.

I think things would have gotten better in a few years had they given him the time, but I guess someone has to take the fall when you field the worst defense of all time, you know?
