Hello Who Dats & Who Datettes & Welcome to the 2021 Week 3, Game 3 Thread
Let's forget last week happened, shall we?
It's tough to lose a division game as badly as that and try to rebound, but the fact remains that most of the starting defense was out. And while guys like Marcus Davenport, Ken Crawley, & Kwon Alexander remain on IR and are out at least through next week's game, the defense looks like it will be bolstered by the return of pretty much everyone else who missed last week - Lattimore, CJGJ, Werner, Turner, PJ Williams, & Tanoh Kpassagnon.
And while Erik McCoy is still out, hopefully the errors we saw along the O line last week can be fixed with the return of pretty much all of the coaches who missed last week's game. Will the OL get a bit of a reprieve with NE's sack leader, Uche (3 of NE's 6 sacks), questionable for today's game?
Much like the Panthers were last week, the Patriots and rookie QB (from Alabama) Mac Jones come into today off of a win over the New York Jets. Can the defense get to Jones, who has been sacked 4 times in 2 games, but who also has yet to throw an interception in his NFL career, and can the defense create turnovers from a team that's currently +3 in giveaway/takeaway (the Saints are +2... so pretty even).
LET'S BOUNCE BACK IN A BIG WAY AND END OUR HURRICANE VAGABOND EXISTENCE WITH A WIN
Injury Report:
NO- (players on IR - like Davenport, Alexander, & Crawley - won't be listed here)
Erik McCoy - Calf - OUT
NE-
Adrian Phillips - Non-Injury Related - QUESTIONABLE
Trent Brown - Calf - QUESTIONABLE
Josh Uche - Back - QUESTIONABLE
Weather: Should be a great day for football in New England today with highs in the low-to-mid 70s, partly-to-mostly cloudy skies and winds out of the NE around 10 MPH and a very miniscule chance of rain.
Uniforms: Is this a north thing? Whenever the team goes up north but doesn't want to wear Color Rush... they bust out the 'icy whites'... which will be the case today
Current Standings:
NFC South:
Panthers 3-0
Buccaneers 2-0
Saints 1-1
Falcons 0-2
AFC East:
Bills 1-1
Dolphins 1-1
Patriots 1-1
Jets 0-2
Betting Lines: Patriots (-3); O/U 42.5

Our Kicker will win or lose this game....Our D will play tough & our offense can not be any worse than the Dolphins or the Jets.

Man, the D should be able to stop anything the patriots throw at them. Offfense, score 24, and we'll win

That’s interesting. I thought Lil’Jordan had played pretty well. I guess he’s making room for Stills to play? With Latt, Adebo, Roby and CGJ, we should do much better in the secondary. Baun has to play much better, he was exposed last week.

yeah... seems like he's at the end of the list and Stills is now back in house

I predict saints take it 27-21. We clean up most of the blocking issues CSP commits to the run which helps open the passing attack. Kamara has a big day.

Defense will come out today and light it up. They will give Mac Jones hell. Offense just needs to be average for us to have a chance to win.
ETA: the Saints under CSP are 14-5 against rookie QBs who are throwing for only 206 yards on 55% passing. Shut down Damian Harris=win the game. We have the best run defense in the NFL. We comin.
