Tyrun Walker was unblockable in the 2nd half.

Between Walker, Foster, and Hicks, I think Juneyah is more important for us than Jordan, even though Jordan is the better player.

Three catches for like ten yards. Also had a big penalty.
All his catches were with the defender hitting him though so the yardage doesn't surprise me. I remember 2 of them were tough come back catches(with at least one where the QB was on the run).

I'll give you the penalty but those happen.

On Cadet, he had an 11 yard run and finished with 9 yards. Even without the -5 yarder that's 7 rushes for 14 yards(2 ypc). He lacks that initial burst, which surprisingly Ingram showed all night long.

And he's never had that burst which is why I always laugh when people say he can replace some of what Sproles does(yes even when Payton says it). Sure he can run and catch and return but he can't even come close to what Sproles did in those first 2 things.

I saw Toon making catches, but he just seemed...lax.
Like he wasn't putting in much effort.
Lax because he was getting hit while catching?

My point was he didn't have drops and that was while getting hit. But maybe he needs to be wide open to drop it.

I get what you're saying but remember Jordan plays almost every snap against starting offenses.

I really like Foster and Walker but at this point I don't think they're ready for that. Hell Walker looked gassed as hell a few times tonight.

I'm just saying it's a win that he didn't have drops, not that he looked spectacular. Baby steps.

Yeah, but easier to find solid strongholds DEs than weakside. Less important position as well. If I have choice between Jordan or Juneyah and Hicks, it's an easy choice for me. It may come down to that, too.

Most important thing is finding cheap guards to replace Evans and Grubbs, and our line looked great without them, even against StLs studly starters.

Anyone see Baptiste do anything besides the TD where he didn't turn around? If he played a lot, that may be a good sign.

Is Drew playing next week? If so, I might go to next Thursday in the dome.

So as far a position battles go after this game
Backup QB:Griffin>McCown

WRs:Colston,Stills,Cooks,Morgan,Meachem,Toon(Even though I wasn't impressed with him, he was the only one who made any other kind of impact)

Center:Looked pretty even to me

LBs:Lofton,Humber,Juneyah,Haralson,Fortt, Powell,Butler,Knox
(I think Hawthorne looked slow and Humber can easily take his position)

Safeties:Byrd,Vaccaro,Bush
(Now I think Sunseri and Ball make the team but Warren looked great too. Time will only tell)

Kicker:Dimke>Graham

I feel like all of our CB's did this.

Strozier was the 3rd best looking HB tonight by far.

And yeah I get that Thrill and if Galette doesn't hit 12 sacks we are going to have a tough 2016 offseason because all 3 will be UFAs. I'm actually hoping he does hit 12 so we can deal with him this coming offseason.

I just think Jordan is still more important because he plays nearly every snap and is versatile as a dominant run stuffer and pass rusher, whereas Galette still hasn't shown consistency in setting the edge or stopping the run(though he is much improved).

And I think without Jordan and Hicks Galette wouldn't be in as many one on ones to do what he does. Remember that guy Atl signed because he looked good playing with Jared Allen and then played like horseshite because Atl had no one like Allen?

Yeah this and replacing Lofton and Hawthorne has been something I've been preaching for.

I could see keeping Evans if healthy, but Grubbs can definitely be replaced. Replace that with Lofton and Hawthorne in those spots as well, though I'm not nearly as high on Lofton and I am on Evans.

Jordan is a better run defender (something we need badly) and a strong bull rusher. He can also play DT and DE.

Junior has speed on Jordan, but other than that...

What?

Didn't turn around in coverage? Agreed, saw it several times. Not something to worry about with Lewis, Champ, and probably Prob and White. Baptiste had really good coverage on the play, just a learning experience.

Mostly agreed but Butler is still all hype at the moment. At this point I'd rather keep Humber, Haralson, Fortt, Powell, Knox, and Dawson over him(as well as the obvious Lofton and Galette).

All of the rookie WRs not named Cooks were either quiet or bad. At this point none of them are cracking the 53.
