Those are good numbers, I agree. But what got lost in this is that Weddle is actually a free, so he should have more picks. I'm not sure why Weddle is even in the conversation to be honest.

I believe you.

But if you want to make good points--and it sounds like you do--say it honestly.
You're talking in a joking-type banter in a debate where both sides have points.

You wanna convince the other side?
Do it through logic.

You still haven't answered my question of who you consider the elite SS in the NFL, and you don't have to say Polomalu.

I thought that was a hypothetical. Yes, Polomalu, be he's far superior to anyone else. I'll admit that I can't name all 32 SS in the league but I'll name a few that can cover and tackle which ours can't do.

William Moore - hate to admit it, but he's good
Adrian Wilson - stud
Antoine Bethea - sliding a little, but this dude was great for years
Antrelle Rolle - not as good as he used to be, but he's a playmaker, something we don't have
Hell, the guy they let Whitner go for in Buffalo. Dude is good but I can't remember his name.
The Tampa Bay safety that came back off suspension is a badass. Not sure if he's a free though.

Names are vague to me since its been several months. I have all MLB players in my head now. That should cover enough.

Peprah - GB, is young and good. Covers well.

I thought I did use logic. Just because I'm not arguing doesn't mean its not logical. It's all logical.

Bottom line is, I just don't like his game. I don't like a safety that can't cover in a pass happy league. I can't stand that we paid him a ridiculous salary to do something that we don't need anymore.

I don't know, Roman is good in the box. You aren't gonna find a lot strong safties in the league who are great inside the box and can cover TE's and WR's like a glove. The rule changes are stacked in the offense's favor these days, WR's and TE's probably won't have as much fear going over the middle in the years to come. A safety's job was already hard enough covering a slot WR at times, now they have to be careful not to hit the guy in the head and get flagged or fined.

Of course pressure from the defensive line can always help a secondary out and that is something that gets overlooked a lot on this board.

It doesn't matter.

Harper plays on the opposing team now.

Nah, he has been doing that for awhile now. I'm convinced from reading this board that he does. I'm sure there is another Ed Reed just waiting to be taken in the third round by the Saints at pick #89. No worries.

I thought this thread was a joke for a while. I even wrote it down in my diary " I read a very funny joke today on Saints talk".

I just kept responding.
I don't remember how it started.

Now that I think about it, I think it was started by some fool that believed Harper was for sure suspended and that was a good thing.

You'll notice I don't suffer fools, Coco.

as in the ss from the worst passing defense in the league

Adrian Wilson is basically the exact same thing as harper just with less grey hair and more roids.

And Polomalu is a very good player but might be the most overrated player in the NFL. The dude makes plays but also misses half a season each year and gets beat a lot as well. It also helps a HELL OF A LOT that he has had the benefit of great upfront pressure throughout the years.

Again find me any strong safety in the league that would be effective with anemic pressure from the front seven and I'll find you the first.

I kind of want to get there on the guy who started a thread about ignoring people who started posting after 2011.

That could be nice.
That thread is douchey as hell.
Then again, that's the OT for you.
:ducks:

But a babe thread never hurts, if it's done right.

Oh!
You could do a babe thread on the Saints board.
I'm not sure if they'll move it, but I don't think it's ever been attempted before.

I'm not really an amnesiac.

I'm just kinda between grad schools right now, so I'm not doing a whole lot.
Not working hard enough to make myself tired at night.
