Let says it’s 2017-2018 How many would have been excited about a Qb room of Andy dalton and Jameis Winston?

Not me, funny how our perspective suddenly changes once they put on black and gold.

Not saying it is the answer but i think We needed to trade for Jimmy G, I may even rather be in the falcons postion with Marcus Marriott starting, TBH.

Just really sucks BC I think Qb and maybe Lb depth are the only things holding this team back.

Five years ago we were coming off of three straight 7-9 seasons.

Jameis was a more recent #1 pick.

We were 11-5 in 2017-2018

And any 7-9 record in the last 15 years was not because of QB play.

If those are my 4 options I would go w Winston all day, Jimmy G & Dalton are a coin flip to me so it’s more about price, and Mariotta is there for preseason reps bc I’m not relying on him for a full season

Oh and 5 years ago is before the 30/30 season that everyone wants to shite on him for and claim that’s his norm. His TD/Int ratio still isn’t great, but it’s above average

Jimmy G

He's helmed multiple championship caliber rosters (dominant defenses, powerful ground attacks, talented skill receivers, TEs & backs). Jimmy G was the one underwhelming element that held them back.

It’s crazy when you think he was the QB for a 13-3 team that went to a SB. Gets injured the next year, and the team starts trying to move on from him by trading up to draft his replacement. But fans think he’ll be the answer even though his own team didn’t want him just over 1 year removed from a SB appearance

Career 68% completion percentage vs Career 60% completion percentage, you can’t just teach accuracy.

How about rewind one year before Brees retired and tell him to move on?
Saints would have Tom Brady, another Super Bowl and Sean P still coaching ...

Jameis was 5-2 last year pre-injury with the worst set of receivers in the league and a slew of injuries already starting to mount up on the team. If you are looking for an upgrade at the QB position you won't find it in either Jimmy G. or Marriotta.

Not saying it’s an upgrade, my point is our situation isn’t much better than that of the falcons and or our QBs are comparable if not worse than Jimmy G.

Once we didn’t get Watson, it really doesn’t matter. All these QBs are about the same. Jimmy G, Winston, Mayfiekd, etc. Not much difference. So you go with which one will gives you the best hang for your buck, and I think Winston does that.
