Ridiculous - they are just hyper emotional and drunk with hive mind right now. They are football players, not Rhodes scholars and deep thinkers - expecting an average football player to process a complicated social issue with nuance and understanding is unrealistic.

I’m white and grew up in a horrible all black neighborhood. I’ve spent a lot of time in their community and I truly understand and connect with them in a way that 99.999999999% of white people don’t.

And that being said, they will turn on any white person in a mother fricking second and that’s just how it is. You can be a perfect friend, a great coworker, a pillar in the community, and as non-racist as is humanly possible, and they’ll jump all over your fricking arse the second they can find something to nitpick. That mentality is a big, big reason that their community is absolutely fricked.

Drew probably thought he could voice an opinion after years and years and years of being the model citizen in New Orleans and being beloved by the black community, and he learned what they’re all about today.
