Show us the history of 5th round qbs that ever have success.
There’s plenty over the years.
Kurt Warner, Rich Gannon, mark Rypien, Matt hasselback, mark Brunell, Brad Johnson, Marc Bulger, Brock Purdy…
All made the pro bowl, the superbowl or was an MVP, or Super Bowl MvP. All taken 5th round or later….
None include of course, the GOAT, Tom Brady in the 6th.

Warren Moon went undrafted coming out of Washington because NFL teams told him he needed to move to WR. Kurt Warner went from bagging groceries to Hall of Famer. Tony Romo & Jake Delhomme were undrafted free agent's as well. NFL QBs that have been drafted from the 5th round later include Matt Hasselbeck, Brock Purdy, Ryan Fitzpatrick & some dude named Tom Brady.

More than I thought, but I would say the success rate is quite horrible for guys that late

he is a practice team at best. I hope they don’t put he as a number 2 as much as Carr gets hurt

The success rate of QBs taken in rounds 1-3 are even worse because more of them end up starting & failing. Try again.

Wait, so if a guy never starts, he isn't considered unsuccessful?

Jayden Daniels and Bo Nix are rookies. No way in hell they look this terrible, if playing today for the Saints.
Prime Brees would have struggled today with the pressure & the drops.

Daniels and Nix took over teams that were worse than the saints. Washington was picking 2nd last year and had way less talent than us.

The starters at LG, C, RG, WR1, WR2, WR3, TE, & RB are all second stringers at absolute best. Not to mention the current HC is also not likely a real candidate for any of the other NFL teams. Hard for any rookie QB, especially one that was not a legit top 10 draft pick to succeed.
Rattler made some great throws today, had several drops from his pass catchers with one turning into an interception.
The second INT was completely on him. Not giving him a pass, but after theowing a great pass to Juwan the play before only to have it negated by OPI I do understand Rattler trying to force things late in the game.
One thing Rattler definitely has to improve on is his ball security in the pocket. He’s had 5 starts & I can recall at least 3 strip sacks

Yet both Denver & Washington have better HC & OC personnel than the Saints. Kingsbury was a perfect fit for Daniels. Nix has Payton.

No sense in arguing with these rum dums.

I know. They want to shoe horn every situation as being equal when it's clearly not the case. Don't even get me started that Daniels & Nix were grad transfers in college. Both had to take minimal classes at LSU & Oregon their final years. It's been well documented how they used the extra down time to watch extra film & work on the fundamentals of their games. It's why both were 2 of the 4 Heisman Finalist in 2023 with Daniels winning it.
It also aided them in preparation for the NFL. They were ahead of the learning curve in understanding defensive looks particularly coverage concepts. You know who else went through the same process? Joe Burrow. It's no coincidence that all 3 have had really good rookie campaigns in comparison to other rookie QBs over the past 10 years.
Rattler came into this season without expections of being a starter this year because of Carr & being a 5th rounder. Carr is an 11 year vet & couldn't thrive in this injury riddled offense yet you have people expecting Rattler to do so or using ridiculous comparisons to Nix & Daniels who are in better situations from a FO, coaching & team talent standpoint. They are so narrow minded & ignorant that they can't even see the positives with Rattler from a potential perspective. Kid has talent & moxy. He plays hard & it was obvious today that his teammates appreciated that. Will he ever reach his full potential? No one knows but to judge him as a rookie surrounded by so much non NFL talent is absolutely foolish.

I don’t think he’s terrible, but he’s certainly not good right now. He’s a rookie with no offensive line, an interim coach, no WR’s, and a TE who can’t catch. Not saying he’s the answer, but pretty early to evaluate him.
1000x this.
It’s a completely hopeless situation for the guy currently. He’s not a 10 year pro. He’s playing with a back up o line with backup weapons and a joke of a HC all as a 5th round rookie. I think he will eventually settle in as a backup with a lot of play making upside once he settles into the league. But it may not be with us.

As currently constructed we are far and away the worst team in the league brochacho.
We don’t have close to a bowers or meyers catching passes for us.

Man, RobbBobb is a known retard especially when it comes to discussing QB play. He was a regular on tRant in 2022 & 2023 making dumb posts as to why Nuss should start over Daniels yet here is he dick riding Daniels. Dude is a frickin idiot.

Honestly, Rattler would have been the perfect type of QB prospect to draft to have as a backup during the final Brees years to where the Green Bay approach could have been used. Let him soak up how to be pro in his flim study, game preparation & techniques before taking over in year 2 or 3. It's just extremely difficult for any rookie QB to develop properly with the sink or swim, start immediately approach especially when surrounded by practice squad level talent.

If rattler were cut tomorrow, how many teams claim him on their active roster?

The same amount who continued to sign Baker Mayfield & Sam Darnold.

Nice point, but those guys had a hell of lot more pedigree.
