Saints players would have received a $250,000 bonus for reaching the Super Bowl. That times 53 is $13,250,000.

I estimated ticket sales to be between $11-$12 million.

Can only guess how much money was potentially impacted from people betting on the game.

This is a much bigger deal than a team losing and its fans being sad.

Eta: Is $25 million enough to warrant an investigation and eventual holding of people accountable?

This is where the lawsuit needs to hang its hat...and pro bono. Wish I had the damn time to support bc the evidence is completely overwhelming between quotes from participants, video, etc

Burn the whole thing down

I get your point but the $250 k per player was the total amount including the divisional round.

I don't feel like digging for links but I'm pretty sure every news outlet reported that that was the amount of the Super Bowl bonus. Hence Sean bringing $250k in 1's and the Lombardi into the locker room and saying, "if you want this win the next three games."

yeah, you get a little bit for each game, totaling that amount, they missed out on some money, but it's closer to 100k now

Some players have in contract bonuses for reaching the Super Bowl, and it’s even more common for the coaching staff to have bonuses for making the Super Bowl. Theres a lot of money the saints missed out on for sure.

I would love a lawsuit.

It would not be a winning lawsuit in the end for several reasons but just to have Goodell on the witness stand in Louisiana would be awesome.

Not just the players missed out on bonuses. Pretty much every employee of the Saints missed out on bonuses.
