Well, on this one I have to side with the Special Man.

So the Saints should pay him about $2m more per year than anyone else in the NFL would likely give him?

Well...

Who would you trade, cut, or short change in order to come up with the $7 Mill (No Salary cap doesn't negate the fact that the Bensons aren't going to go in the hole too much. Benson didn't make his money by supporting money losing enterprises)?

$7m a year to PT guarantees that either Porter, Nicks, or possibly both are gone in two years.

I really don't care. PT has busted his arse for a team that didn't really want him in the first place, and the Saints have been getting his productivity at a bargain for the last few years, time to pay up.

If you should cut anyone, it should be Reggie Bush, who's making ridiculous amounts for a part-time kick returner and glorified 3rd down back.

No, I would say you are showing yours, before Darren Sharper arrived last year what were the Saints known for idiot,

The NFL disagrees with you. Safety and Running back are way down the list.

Overpaying on 2nd contracts to make up for getting bargains on rookies would be an absolutely retarded way to run a football team.

So we don't give good players raises? That sounds more retardeder.

lol, it's the same damn points, but yet...here you are, getting shot down AGAIN.

In a strange way, it's like watching a retard run in the middle of the interstate. You don't wanna watch, b/c you know someone is gonna get killed, yet you have to watch...because some primal instinct wants to see body parts fly.

Meh, I sort of agree with you and Thrillho to a point.

The key is giving the right raises to the right key players.

At the end of the day you just need to realize that:

1. Thomas is a pretty average starting running back
2. There are an abundance of RBs similar to Thomas
3. Those guys don't make anything close to $7M / yr.

Pierre should be offered a contract in the $3M/yr range. That's what he's worth.

I'm not arguing Thomas should make 7 mil a year, go back to my posts and show where I did, but I am arguing the kid is more valuable to the Saints then some would have you believe. He has given them good production and deserves around 4, 5 mil a year I think. My whole argument thing was that Loomis was an idiot for shellin out big bucks for 3 DE's that wasn't worth it.

and despite what you said about positions being important, I still say it depends on what a certain team needs when it comes draft time, but QB is always a given as the premier position, the rest are all interchangeable IMO.

My God you're delusional.

Money, the odds of him seeing this are slim to none. And that wasn't your argument tubs. You were arguing that RB was a more valuable position than DE, and as moneyg has been gracious enough to point out, that just isn't the case.

Still waiting for you to stop wasting your time with me. Since you've had to change your point at least 4 times during this thread, it's like I said....retard through traffic.

I, for one, never argued against PT getting paid. Just not 7 mil, which I think is something we can all agree on.

You don't have to reply, tubs.

This is the wrong place for this. If you want to get in a shouting match, we can take it elsewhere. This is not the place for it.
