@LarryHolder: NFL spokesman Michael Signora tells me Peyton Manning's pass will remain as call. So Manning keeps the record by one yard over Drew Brees.

@RapSheet: Per NFL spokesman @NFLfootballinfo, Peyton Manning keeps his record: "The stats crew at the game scored this play as a forward pass."

Would've beat the record anyway had he played the 2nd half. However, they fix stats all the time, this should've been fixed as well.

@LarryHolder: Elias Sports Bureau deemed it the "fairest resolution is for the ruling of the on-site stats crew to stand."

As much as I'd understand people bitching if it was changed even though it was the right call (since he didn't play the 2nd half), this was the only reason he was playing when they were already up 20, so they should have had someone watching every play for shite like this themselves. They failed to do that, this was CLEARLY a lateral.

If this was someone breaking Peyton's record, you can bet your arse it would have been corrected.

I agree with that. Peyton is the face of the NFL, but still should be treated like everyone else. Gronkowski has the TD record taken away from something similar, although he went on to get it anyway.

It should've been fixed.

Passing yds is possibly the most overrated record in sports

The bigger issue is Elias selling its integrity

So you'd be okay looking at every one of Drew's passes from his record breaking season to weigh in equally? Yeah, Elias looked at them, but they did manning too.

He played for the first half because when he's rested more, its traditional hit him in the arse. Sure he stayed in long enough to have the record, and thats fine. But he also stayed in to stay sharp for the playoffs.

One question:

Was it a lateral?

I would have liked to have seen another angle, but the one posted it was a lateral. But I agree with he decision to uphold it. I think they would have, and rightly so, done the same for Brees. Maybe thats a naive line of thinking, but whatever.

They looked at Mannjngs too- apparently.
Case closed, unless you also want to offer a personal opinion of Drew's passes.

Too much in common not to be, rondo. And he can leave this board because he sucks. Go back to the OT, GCS or are you banned from that board as a condition of you being able to have yet another alter?
