People are talking about wk 16 vs the Steelers possibly being flexed but in wk 15 the Steelers play the patriots at 4:15. If the Steelers get flexed to SNF that’s the one.

Good point. Didn't see they had that one before ours. Still wouldn't completely rule it out depending on other games/playoff positions in week 16 itself.

I thought every team had to play one?

But I mean who wants to see them in prime time anyway? TB fans themselves barely care about that team.

Looks like as of now all of the really tough games are at home.

At Minnesota and at Dallas are the only scary away games besides the away divison games

Not scared of Dallas at all.

At Minny is going to be tough if Cousins can be efficient in that offense.

I wanna say it started in 2015, but certain NFC games can be poached by CBS. Same for the AFC and Fox.

It has more to do with scheduling overload on one side Fox/CBS (AFC/NFC) than "games of intrigue."

I guess I never noticed this before. I guess this is probably the first time is has effected a Saints game.

Saints-Rams just last year was on CBS.

I think they have this one in bold on the calendar in their locker room.

Okay so it was one of ours. I just remember a game that I was shocked was on cbs and I guess it's the first time it happened to us.

I think I remember turning on fox and then missing some of the first drive because I thought it was just on commercial.

On the Minny game, they definitely all looked at when that one is. I expect Williams to have a very good game that day.

I was really hoping we could get the Vikes in Weeks 1-4 to catch them while Cousins is still getting acclimated with the offense. But week 8 isn't horrible. The worst part of that game is seeing the final play of the Divisional Playoff game over and over and over and over again. My guess is the over/under should be 4.5 (this would include preshow, game and post show)

The Saints get open and close the season with back to back home games, but they have to pay for it with 8 out of 12 road games in the middle.

But look how it's broken up. Even the 3 game road trip has a 10 day mini bye after the first game.

We get the Giants after Atl, which is much better than vice versa. We get Atl after two at home.

Another set of back to back road games are proceeded by our bye week. I'd prefer if the order of Bal/Min was switched, but getting the bye before that stretch is still huge.

I'd also switch the order or TB/Car coming out of our mini bye, but we do get an extra day and a half before facing Car because it's Monday night.

Those two switches aside this is about as good of a schedule as we could have gotten.

We have two short weeks the whole year and we are the home team (vs. Atl and vs. Pit) in both games (which is extremely favorable). One of those short weeks (the very short week against Atl) we are at home the week before (vs. Eagles).

You gotta play the teams you gotta play, but when we play them seems extremely favorable on paper.

Edit: the wk 15 SNF is rams @ eagles. That might be a great a game. Meanwhile the wk 16 SNF is chiefs @ Seahawks lol

Just saw this edit. Looking at those games, unless the Rams or Eagles are struggling I have to think that stays on SNF, plus cbs will really want to keep the Pats/Steelers game for Game of the Week (and perhaps was a trade off for another game).

So that puts the odds of Saints/Steelers getting flexed much, much higher. Still haven't looked at the whole schedule that week, but that will be two teams likely fighting for the 1 or 2 seed in their respective conferences, which will be a huge draw right before the playoffs to showoff a potential SB matchup.

No matter how you break it up, 8 out of 12 games on the road is an extremely difficult stretch.

You make a good point about the three consecutive games on the road. Three games in 18 days? It couldn't have worked out any better.

Nov 29 at Dallas (7 days to prepare)
Dec 9 at Tampa Bay (10 days to prepare)
Dec 17 at Carolina (8 days to prepare)

The bye week before two road games is also hugely important.

The only "bad" road stretch is Atl/NYG and that's very early in the year following two road games, and is in the order you'd want them.

Then our last road game is sandwich between two home games.

So the 8 out of 12 is a very soft 8 out of 12. They really couldn't have made that easier on us aside from switching the two games I mentioned.

Sept. 9 TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS Noon Fox
Sept. 16 CLEVELAND BROWNS Noon Fox
Sept. 23 at Atlanta Falcons Noon Fox
Sept. 30 at New York Giants 3:25 p.m. CBS
Oct. 8 WASHINGTON REDSKINS (Monday) 7:15 p.m. ESPN
Oct. 14 BYE
Oct. 21 at Baltimore Ravens 3:05 p.m. Fox
Oct. 28 at Minnesota Vikings 7:20 p.m. NBC
Nov. 4 LOS ANGELES RAMS 3:25 p.m. Fox
Nov. 11 at Cincinnati Bengals Noon Fox
Nov. 18 PHILADELPHIA EAGLES noon Fox
Nov. 22 ATLANTA FALCONS (Thursday) 7:20 p.m. NBC
Nov. 29 at Dallas Cowboys (Thursday) 7:20 p.m. Fox/NFLN
Dec. 9 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Noon Fox
Dec. 17 at Carolina Panthers (Monday) 7:15 p.m. ESPN
Dec. 23 PITTSBURGH STEELERS 3:25 p.m. CBS
Dec. 30 CAROLINA PANTHERS noon Fox

This is just my prediction on how easy or tough teams will be on a very loose scale (easy, medium, or hard; and easy road game is still tougher than an easy home game and so on):

Easy home game
Easy home game
Medium road game
Easy road game
Easy home game (Monday; long week favors them)
Bye week (no short week)
Easy road game (coming off bye favors us)
Hard road game
Medium home game
Easy road game
Hard home game
Medium home game (Thursday; short week favors us)
Easy road game (Thursday)
Easy road game (mini bye favors us)
Medium road game (Monday; long week favors us)
Hard home game (short week favors them)
Medium home game

Imo the stretch between Minny and Atl is the toughest one, and we only play two road games in that stretch, one easy and one hard.

Hard to say 8 out of 12 road games is soft, my friend.

You can't say the last road game is sandwiched between home games because we are just focusing on that 8 out of 12 game span from Sep 23-Dec17.

As I posted earlier, opening with two home games, and then closing the season with two home games is awesome. You just have to pay for it during that Sep 23-Dec17 stretch.

the last road game

Was talking about Cincy, which is just a single road game sandwich between two home games. Single road games are obviously easier than back to back stretches or three in a row.

But one of our back to backs is following a bye week, and the 3 game stretch has extended breaks between the second and third. The other back to back is VERY early and follows two easy home games which should give us momentum (also good because we play the harder road game first) and we should have better overall health that early.

Fact is you play 8 road games no matter what, and I showed in detail why it is about as favorable as we could have gotten. We have a bye and a mini bye plus a long week thrown in between all those road games.

This could have been much, much worse, but for 8 out of 12 they literally couldn't have made it much easier aside from switching the order of two sets of games.

You are ignoring all the breaks we get before and in between these road games by just saying the stock phrase 8 of 12 is tough.

Who, when, and how the games are spaced are much more important than just saying 8 of 12.

I'm not ignoring the breaks we are getting.

Did you read my post about the three consecutive road games taking place over 18 days and how that couldn't have worked out any better?

Usually in a season, 8 road games take place in a 15 game span, or a 14 game span. In ours, it happens over 12. That is difficult, no matter how you slice it.

We do get rewarded this way:

Sep 9 Tampa Bay
Sep 16 Cleveland

Dec 23 Pittsburgh
Dec 30 Carolina
