LB from Mizzou sounds good to me (forget his name) ... if Saints don't trade up to get higher-rated LB
Sean Weatherspoon.
He will either go to Atlanta. (what fans want and fits a need)
or Philly

way to high for either of them. Houston struggles with going against bigger guys and Thomas is considered a 3rd rounder. Houston is a 2nd or 3rd right now.
both shined at the senior bowl according to mayock. He said Houston was the best player on the UT defense when watching the national championship game. Both will be gone by the 2nd round. Everyone is dropping 1st rounder names that will be gone at 32, we need to be looking at the players rated as 2nd rounders.

They did. However, i feel they are over-rated. Atkins is a solid 2nd rd pick depending on the scheme and Owens is a good 3rd rounder. neither are worth 1sts.
i did get the impression Naturally Nawlins was obsessing over UGA players again

ETA: i would like to see us get rennie curran around 3-4 if we can though, undersized but very good olb

don't get me wrong they did shine and played great. 1st rd prospects always slip.

OLB or Big DT to play the middle to free up Elllis to peratrate and disrupt the pocket.
Fajita and Shanle or ok but an upgrade is definitely needed at both LB positions.
Waiting to see what last years 4th rounder has to offer. Arneau was drafted out of wake forest to push Shanle at the will LB.

It's gonna be a long wait till draft day. The draft has always been a favorite of mine

before this past 4 years, the superbowl for the saints was draft day

my early take- the Saints have a strong BPA history but that becomes increasingly subjective as you move down the board into the 30s. Slippage I wouldn't mind: Very strong DT class. Dan Williams might be a 20s pick that could fall as a result, even if more 3-4ish. Brian Price UCLA seems to grade in that neighborhood. A big plugger next to Ellis could be very strong. LB's tend to slip so Bowman or Weatherspoon might work. A lot of DEs could be in that range. I'm sorting out a list of Graham Mich, Pierre-Paul SF, Griffen USC, Sapp Clemson, Wootton NW
I'd love to see'em get a pick for Jammal Brown. Like him but increasingly brittle.
Off the wall like: Gresham TE would be explosive. Love JShock but at 31, injuries, and increasing money ya never know.

quote:Goodwin just made the Pro Bowl and is pretty cheap since he was promoted from the backup spot when Faine left a few years ago. I cant see us going oline in the 1st
center is the only position i would consider

if not falcons then eagles

Graham Mich, , Sapp Clemson,
Graham may only be a 3-4 lb. Sapp is definitely only a 3-4 lb.

yeah that's the guy. Read several projections that don't have him in the first round, so wouldn't he still be around when the Saints draft 32nd? He wouldn't be a reach at that point, would he? I think that's our guy.

I agree but unless williams falls to us i don't think a big gap stuffer will be available

Bushrod was excellent this year. He was basically a rookie and didn't give up to many sacks. Maybe washington will give us a 2nd rounder (37 overall)

complete genius. think we could get him in the 2nd?
Posted on 2/10/10 at 1:00 pm to Hullabaloo
not our 2nd
32 seems to be the right neighborhood, prolly more value IMO
dependent on wassup wit shockey and the powers that be tho. That said, they aren't afraid of an investment w/o immediate return ala Meachem.

I like Hernandez from UF if we take a TE. Guy looked really good this year

a kewl thing about draft talk this year is that it seems a lot closer
like starting a month later in thought than usual. I could get used to this.
