If so, stop arguing. Oops, you typed out an entire post, it seems YOU are emotionally invested.

quote:

See, you said LANGUAGE....not cheering or yelling. So if 90000 people in a stadium are soooo 'Emotionally invested" in an outcome that they cant control their LANGUAGE...well, I stand by my statement.

If you can honestly say you don't hear BAD LANGUAGE at an LSU game, and when you do, it's from bad parents, then you sir are a prophet and a wiseman, and I will follow you anywhere.

quote:

See this is why folks like you will remain tards, you say language, now it is CHEER LOUDLY.

Fine then, bad language. And it doesn't change my point. TS is wrought with foul language and insults during a football game, it's your fanbases claim to fame. Ask around the SEC

quote:

But what if they are "emotionally invested" isnt that OK.
.

So you concede my point. Thanks.

So you lose your special Ninja powers when children arent around?

You crack my arse up.

Now, go stand and block an amputees view.

Man, you are eat up with the stupid huh? Ninja powers? WTF? You think the fact that I know how to hurt someone in close, or physically control someone who is out of control has something to do with Ninja shite? Damn. You are REALLY pissed about losing this argument, aren't you?

I wonder what the Cajun Cannon would say to all this. To the people who want to sit. To the people who want to stand and support their team.Amen!!! They said on local news that Cards players were talking to Saints players after game about "how loud and raucous the crowd was. Then told them that there's no way they should lose with that type of crazy atmosphere".And that atmosphere doesn't happen by sitting down like ya at a funeral.Stay home!

WHOA, WHOA, WHOA there Woody!!! You can't just come in here with your first hand information, talking about how players want us fans to be loud, crazy, raucous and stuff (which includes standing and cussing, for those who cuss)!!! How are the people arguing that bad language will cause their children to spontaneously become meth addicts and begin cursing at the top of their lungs at weddings and funerals and in church prove their point!??!?! If we stand, the people behind us are going to... uh...well, they are going to miss some of the game they are not yelling and cheering and cussing for.

Dammit Woody!!! You just screwed the pooch for all these "sit down, shut up and don't you dare use a 4 letter word folks". Now what are they going to do???!??!

Spoken like a true ingnorant arse. My children go with me to Tiger Stadium most games we go. Only on rare occasion does cursing happen. My children know it is wrong EVERYWHERE so there is no need to explain the geography or the emotional investment. Just dont do it.

who would dream someone would be upset about an internet discussion? Seriously?

First, by ignoring my other points, you concede them as well. Thank you.

In your response, you prove my point perfectly.

Parent you kids to know that cussing is unacceptable behavior for children, at any time, in any situation. You also explain that sometimes, adults will cuss because adults have the right to do so, but that does not make it RIGHT. Explain how adults that cuss are not welcome in your family and to your family events, but this is a big PUBLIC stadium, and it will happen from time to time and to ignore it. Job done. Over with. Now get back to the game and ignore the drunk idiot calling the Hat an a-hole because he just blew 17 seconds and a chance to kick the FG!!!!

Obviously, you are. I agree that it's silly and trite, but you are ignoring my logical points and resorting to ridiculous, sophomoric responses. This would indicate that you are getting upset at the fact that you got handled in this debate. Win some, lose some.

In plain English, when you drop your jaw and make a huge scene in public about cussing in situations where it's expected to happen, your children will see this, emulate your reaction and will have a hard time adjusting to societal rules and customs increasing the chance that they'll be labeled out casts.

Hey, Dr. Spock, when's your next book being published? Sheesh, you sound like a pretentious tool.

I'll warn someone once, and the next time they do it, I'll make sure the only way he can cuss is with crayons and notebook paper.

Hey, were you also being a "badass" in the smoking thread?

For the record, not that anyone should give a shite, the one thing that really pisses me off is someone holding up a sign that blocks the view. Happened at the Patriots game and there was a mild altercation.

If by "pretentious tool" you mean, a dude who has no problem explaining other adults poor behavior to his kid, and because others in this thread seem to need the advice, divulges his strategies for dealing with public cussing (HHUUUUUUHHHH!!!! OH MY GOD, NOT CUSSING!!!!!), then yeah, that's me.

I'm not sure how I was assigned this "badass" title. I'm simply explaining my preference for handling difficult situations in public places (with or without children present) and because I'm not afraid of physical altercations, people call me a "badass". Cool man. Whatever they want.

I agree with you. Signs should be lowered during play. It's not the same as standing. When you stand, the person behind you can also stand and still see the game just fine. With a sign, there is nothing the person(s) behind them can do to see. They are blocked no matter what. THIS is not acceptable.

Bring the signs because it might hlep get people fired up, but put it down during play. Only hoist the sign during timeouts, halftime and pre and post game.

Dude, You are too good to be true, please tell me you're not an alter and that you're actually outraged right now.

p.s. Why did you stop with the CAPS? It made your points look more AWESOME.

p.p.s. please more about your AWESOME parenting.

p.p.p.s. Just curious, when you refer to the Saints, do you use the word "we"? Need to settle a bet here

p.p.p.p.s. you RULE and DOMINATE and are AWESOME, especially at RAISING your SON who will thankfully have you to teach him the REALITY of FOOTBALL, unlike the PUSSIES who SIT on 1st down.

edited to add: dude, come on, don't try to calm down now, keep it up!

Don't know you from Adam, but I've been around awhile and in a lot of different situations. And I can say, without exception, that every single person who made these kind of statements a) would either cut and run at the sign real trouble or b) could be dropped with one good punch to the chin (not that hard . . . it's a parlor trick that just requires leverage).

Anyway, it's very bad form to lecture anyone about "parenting" their child.

if you want to sit down, you know they do put the games on tv? sit on your couch.

This all the way. I believe the whole point to go to a game is to enjoy it and cheer/go crazy for your team. To make some crazy noise and having everyone do that and make it the loudest place ever. To add a bigger advantage to "homefield". Not to sit down and tell the people in front of you to sit and calm down I can't see the game. If you want to relax and see the game, watch it in your living room with some Beethoven on and drink some Soda and have some Lunch. But if you want to cheer your lungs out and jump up and down and scream even when your down 14-0, go to the game.
