OC Wes Phillips?

This does make sense if you listened to Allen's press conference. Allen said he started working on his coaching staff before he was interviewed and that was part of his interview presentation. This means Allen has more than likely already identified his OC and DC but cannot name them yet either because of the Rooney rule or because they are in the SuperBowl.

Wes Phillips is the Rams QB and passing game coordinator. He is the son of Wade Phillips who Allen also recognized by name during his press conference as a coach he worked under and admired.

The Vikings media are mentioning Phillips as following O'Connel to the Vikings as his OC. That does not make much sense since he would be better off just staying with McVay as his OC than following O'Connel.

The Saints OC would be better for Phillips because he would be running his own offense and not Mc'Vays or O'Connels. Also, there is not much room for the Rams offense to be better than they are right now and any drop off in offense could be directed at Phillips. That is a tough spot to be in for an aspiring coach.
