What you guys think? Is the 3rd best qb in this draft 2 1st round picks (2022 and 2023) and a comp pick this year? Seems risky to me

To make it more saints related, it may have really screwed the panthers and Falcons

Depends on who you think is the 3rd best QB.

It depends on who Jacksonville and NYJ think are the best 2.

I’d you get your guy at QB it’s always worth it.

And I have a feeling shanahan can make any of these cats look like great picks

He doesn't feel he can make it work with JG.

I'm not saying they're wrong, but fields seems risky to me. I think Lawrence and Wilson go 1-2

He made a super bowl with JG. Almost won it too.

Yeah, and he traded up this year to replace him.

I have little doubt they expect Jones to be there and be their pick.

FWIW, I think shannahan is good coach. I'm a little less certain this offseason than last though. His regular season win totals are 6, 4, 13, and 6. Is 2019 an anomaly?

Jones? Boy, that would be a shocker

The fact that the trade was with Miami and not the jets pretty much solidified the fact that the jets are all in on a qb who is probably named Zach Wilson. Therefore, Niners must like 3 qbs in this draft to make a trade like that pre draft. I wouldn’t be shocked to see any of the other 3 go here. Fields, Lance, or Jones.

To give up that much to move to #3 not knowing which QB will be picked at #2 tells me they know their choice would be there.

Jones seems to fit that scenario.

I think he was hired to take over a bad team and had to re-tool it from the final Harbaugh years. We saw what he could do with his team when they remained healthy. Last year they were ravaged by injuries early moreso than any other team in recent memory.

We riding with Winston and Taysom. Still think we draft a QB late or pick up a cheap vet later in FA.
We need to go CB, LB, D or O line with our first few picks.

Wouldn’t do it for fields, lance or Jones

Trading multiple 1st for a QB that hits is always worth it.

The contract savings can offset the trading of 1st rounds picks with extra cap space.

I’d be pretty surprised if they thought they have to get to 3 to take Jones but these things are always surprising. I wonder if they really like the Lance upside and size. Would imagine they would love to run that power running/ quick hitting YAC gameplan with a mobile qb the size of a linebacker.

Definitely screwed the Panthers because Falcons don't trade with them. Now the Panthers will take Jones at 8.

Think you could be right but it could also mean that we are misjudging Mac Jones value. It is possible that the Falcons really like Jones. You can’t go by mock drafts and think that he will be available later on. We don’t know. Especially now with covid protocols and less contact with prospects
