It's not about trust, it's about competition.

Toon is competing with Colston(of course Colston will win, but the hope is Toon is the eventual replacement).

Stills will compete with Morgan. It doesn't mean they don't trust him, just that they want to push him. But if Stills outplays him he will start.

We still lack a slot guy to compete with Moore.
