The more I've seen it during a bunch of preseason games, I kinda like it.
We are getting more returns and more action on the play then before.
I don't fully understand the rules but it has added a little extra to kickoffs.

Teams must declare their intention to do the onsides kick to the officiating crew before doing so.
Only the team trailing can do an onsides kick.
Onsides kicks can only be done in the 4th quarter.
They would line up in the old formation to do so.
