Yes, he was very expensive for a punter.
Yes, it was time to move on.
Yes, we have a young stud in Gillikin.

But, #6 in the Black and Gold was an extremely valuable weapon for a long time and will remain one of my all-time favorite Saints.

Every Saint fan is happy for Thomss Morstead who was an incredible player and incredible member of the city. Unfortunately in the NFL business decisions are made without sentiment. The players union bargained for a collective bargaining agreement which benefits the higher paid stars but makes teams favor younger players in their first contracts over veterans in many situations.

Gilikin will be the saints punter for the next 10 years.

He is a great punter. He became even more valuable as Drew got older and we were less effective at getting in the red zone. Saints definitely made the right decision with Gillikin though.
