Been looking at a few Mock Drafts and I know its still early, but a lot of them have us selecting DT Sheldon Richardson or DE/LB Dion Jordan.

What or who would excite you with our 1st pick of the draft? What do you fans expect will happen? Trade up? Trade down? Possible OT pick surprise.

If we stay at 15, I like

Sam Montgomery
Banks
Jones
Milner
Lewan

Who knows what they do. Always a shocker.

I would not be shocked if we drafted a WR

Agreed. I know we can use the help, but god we need help on defense so much more.

If Bushrod asks for too much I'll be shocked if we dont pick up a OT in 1st.

Another big body would be nice, but don't forget that we drafted Nick Toon last year and he might be enough to make them take a value pick in later rounds.

Lance Moore is highly underrated as a WR...the guy plays bigger than his frame and has some really nifty moves. I think Joseph Morgan has made Devery Henderson expendable. But, a solidifying the #2 flanker would really be nice.

This team HAS to go defense in this draft, with the possible exception of trying to get a second (via some kind of trade) or third round OT.

I agree we definitely need to go defense but it always seems the team picks opposite of what or who everyone thinks they should.

We're most likely going to draft a defensive player with out first pick but i wouldn't be surprised if we draft a playmaker on offense, especially if they're still available.

At this point, I'm all for BPA as long it's not OL, RB, or QB.

looks like a long developing play. We better shore up our offensive line

We really dont need Tavon Austin if we have Sproles, am I right? Excellent ATH though, kid can fly.

If we go offense, it needs to be o-line. Gotta Protect the 100 mil man better and Bushrod will want the $$$$ and Strief is a back up IMO. We could get better at RT.

I would be good with an OT in the 1st. Strief is nothing more than a backup/extra blocking TE, that has no business starting, and Bushrod, who isn't overly impressive, is a FA. We are either going to have to spend our limited cap space on re-signing Bushrod, or another FA, or a high draft pick on an OT. Either way we are going to have to sacrifice something to get OL help.

I'd pretty much rather use the draft pick on an OT, and use the cap space for a proven defensive player.

I wouldn't mind going OL with first pick and defense the rest of the way. Gotta protect drew.

Agreed. Looking at the last few years' drafts, here are OTs that were drafted around the middle of the 1st.

2011: Tyron Smith (9th)
Nate Solder (17th)
2010: Anthony Davis (11th)
Bryan Bulaga (23rd)
2009: Michael Oher (23rd)
2008: Ryan Clady (12th)

Without doing much research, early to mid 1st round OTs seem to pan out a lot more than most positions. With the way we draft on defense, I'd rather get a good OT in the 1st, and spend money in FA for a defensive player, rather then drafting another mediocre defensive player, and overpaying Bushrod.

Austin would be a step up on special teams. Sproles can get phased out in couple years anyways. Plus Tavon is pure WR slot guy... him lance and colston would make a lethal 3 wr.. oh, joe morgan go deep.

If we go WR, I would be pissed. Colston, Moore, Morgan, Toon all were late to undrafted pick ups. Brees threw for 5,000 yards again and people are seriously talking about WR in the first?

OL or DL, end of story.
