49ers just informed starting guard Mike Person that he is being released, per source. A veteran guard now available.

This could be a good candidate to replace Peat.

Should be able to get him for cheap. 2.0 - 2.5 mil

Not a horrible idea.

Here's his contract from Spotrac LINK

Isn't Eason under contract for another 3 years? Didn't he replace Peat when he broke his arm and play pretty well? Why are we needing to replace Peat when we already have someone on the team that can and has replaced him? In fact, I'll say this; one of the biggest mistakes that Payton made was putting Peat back into the starting lineup against Minnesota.

No, I'm pretty sure after the 4 mil this year, the saints can get out of his contract
Person wouldn't be a bad addition
Did anyone else hear that the saints weren't happy with Larry Warford s play last year?

Easton was better than Peat, but he was average at best. Easton's 1st 2 games were very good, & everyone was on-board with Easton as the starting LG. He really fell off after those 2 games, but I still liked him more than Peat.

I'm not really sure what to expect from Easton if he starts at LG for us week 1. He was very hit or miss last year, but I wouldn't be surprised if he has a good year.

He's a question mark with plenty of upside. I just want him to have some competition other than Clapp.

Always need depth at the OL. Who goes in for Eason when he is hurt?

I know that Warford started the year poorly, but really came on after 5 games or so.

I think his 12.875 mil cap # is too high, personally.

I wouldn’t mind getting Lloyd Cushenberry in the third or fourth. No this isn’t a LSU love push. I just think it would give versatility and some good competition. But he and McCoy can battle it out center because either one can slide over to guard also. So it can almost make a three way competition for those two spots with Eason and give some versatility along the line.
