If the Saints go 4-1 and lose the Arizona game, they have a 77% chance of making the playoffs.

With a 29% chance of being the 3 seed
a 22% chance of being the 4 seed

So a greater than 50% chance of being NFC South champs and hosting a wildcard game in the Louisanimal Superdome

If the Saints go 5-0, they have an 89% of making the playoffs as a 3 or 4 seed (99% to make playoffs). In fact if we go 9-7 in any possible way, we have a 67% chance of going to the playoffs. Just go 9-7, and they make the playoffs 2 out of 3 times. After starting 0-3, I'm cool with that.

Put your clubs away, the playoffs are waiting for us

Sounds great. Unfortunately, the odds of going 4-1 or 5-0 are not in our favor

What is this based on?

9-7 doesn't seem like it's good enough.

Ever heard of math or statistics?

I'm going to side with math and statistical fact over your hilariously simplistic intuition

Could easily say the exact same thing to you. Chronic negativity with zero substance in your posts could not be more old

It all comes down to special teams Coco

If we have zero kicks returned for TD for the rest of the year, I really like our chances

Hell as long as we beat TB twice and Atl, and finish with an at least equal record with the other teams in the division we should win the division.

We can technically go 8-8 and win the division. If TB loses one game besides the two to us, Car loses any one game, and Atl loses to us and any two other games we'll win the division.

It's there for the taking. And if we can avoid special teams catastrophes, we have the team to do it

I firmly believe that they have a clear road to the playoffs. IF their defense plays the way they played against LA Rams

I don't think we're catching the Falcons, I think we're shooting for the Wild Card at this point.

Wild card is more out of reach than the division, and with the Falcons losing Trufant their defense took a HUGE blow.

I think 9-7 gets the last wildcard. Just looking at schedules for teams battling it out for the wildcard.

Giants are pretty much a lock for the 5th seed, even with a hard remaining schedule. I think they get to 10-6.
