You've been programmed by the P Manning hypnotists (the NFL) over the last few years.
Wake up! We are as good as anyone on any given day.
Also, looks as though Frenney is out or at least slowed way down! That is huge

So, if we win... is it by default? Or are injuries just a part of the game and shouldn't be used as an excuse.
Injuries are apart of the game, but we're a different team with Greer and Porter. You say Sanders is greater than Greer but i'd argue Greer is more valuable to our team than Sanders is to the Colts(seeing as they were 14-2 without him). It's fair to say that with Greer the last couple of games in the regular season would have been different.

Don't think so... I think we have the better quarterback. I just think he's on a slightly worse team.

The Colts only had Bob Sanders for 2 games.
Sanders > Greer
Even if I concede this point to you.
Greer has had a bigger effect on our D than Sanders has had on theirs.
Our D is an extremely aggressive D that thrives on forcing turnovers. In order to do this we blitz a lot and rely on man-to-man coverage. When Greer was out we couldn't do this and had to play out of our element.
Look if you think the Colts are better that's fine, I just happen to disagree with you.
And as far as people hating you for saying the Colts will win. People don't want negativity going into the biggest game in the Saints history. Most all the people I know are at least a bit superstitious so negative thoughts just pain them (they pain me).
back to other points, the reason the Saints D is so inconsistent is we lost both our starting corners and we lost linebackers for chunks of the season. If our D was healthy all season they'd be a lot more consistent.
Try looking at the stats when we were healthy as a unit. I bet they were consistently good. Also when you look, try checking out turnovers forced by the D. IT's not all about yards with our D mantra.

Of course injuries are part of the game. That's why you have to have depth. No one is excusing the Cowboys/Tampa loss, but that we lost those games and the Colts won all of their (real) games doesn't have any relevance to who's going to be battling on the field in Miami

I will agree with this. I don't agree were a worse team and I'm leaning towards the Saints pulling out a win. But if I was a Colts fan I'd think the Colts would pull out a win. Just how I am.
Cheer for the Saints and I hope they prove you wrong.

Hey, I respect the hell out of that. I'm coming from the same position.
And I'm not trying to bring negativity or "bad luck"... I'm just trying to engage in a healthy discussion. If this board is simply used to spit the same homer crap, why even sign on? To have a discussion, you need someone to take each side. Otherwise, the integrity of this forum is simply absent.

As for ESPN, you guys really love to play the victim card. This is the first game all season that I've seen more experts pick the Saints' opponent than the Saints themselves.
Oh ok... NFL Live still consists of 20 minutes of how great the Colts are and how Peyton Manning is preparing for the Saints and 5 minutes of tearing the refs apart from the Saints-Vikings game... I have yet to see one show on ESPN that talks about this game and not the refs from a game that was played almost a week ago!

For those asking for my reasoning: The Colts are simply machine-like.
You obviously haven't watched many Colts games this year. They have played a shite load of close games where they have struggled to move the ball, especially in the first half.
No way that Peyton has a "machine-like" game against the best pass defense in the NFL, based on opposing passer ratings, and they cant run for shite.

Well, that's lousy. But it hasn't been that way all year. And it's a weird thing to get riled up about. I really don't care who ESPN features or favors. I have enough local programming to get my Saints fix.

Yes, much like the Saints.
Like I said, from a consistency standpoint, the two offenses are virtually equivalent. But our defense is beyond inconsistent. Their defense is based on speed... same as our offense. Not good. Their offense is based on beating the blitz... our defense is based on blitzing. Again, not good.
Hey, it's just my opinion. You guys are acting like my opinion pertained to your girlfriends or something. I'm sure she's cute. Just not my type... you know?
Deep breaths.

Well, I explained this in a previous post. The Saints are much less consistent on defense, and almost identical on offense. Demonstrated by numbers.
As for your stats... they're cherry-picked and, overall, awkward. Weird, specific, comparisons.
Here's one: The Colts won more games against tougher opponents.
Maybe someone will accidentally slip in a coherent argument.
Look chief, I'm not calling you names, I'm just responding to your attempts at making sense.
The offenses are not identical. Colts have the WORST rushing offense..this is not a "weird" stat. The Saints are much, much better than the Colts in this regard. Does it matter? Maybe not.
Tougher opponents? Seriously? I'll let you check up on that and get back to me. Done? No? Fine, here it is:

I'm sorry you don't like my stats, but they're relevant nonetheless.
I'm trying to engage you in a logical, stat-based conversation on whether the Saints or Colts should have the edge. If all you got is, "better record when they played their starters," I guess we're done here.
