Welcome to Week 9 and Game Thread #8 of the 2018 New Orleans Saints season.

Can you believe we're already halfway through the season?

Bust out your favorite Az Hakim reference because it's the big game against the no longer in St. Louis Rams

Of course... last season the Saints saw their 8-game win streak end in Los Angeles to the Rams... now our beloved Crescent City football team can return the favor by ending LAR's 8-game win streak today inside the friendly confines of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The Saints are coming off perhaps their biggest win of the season, a 30-20 road win to exorcise the demons in Minnesota, while the Rams forced a late turnover to preserve a close home win over Aaron Rodgers and the Packers.

Injury wise... the Saints will be without their big rookie as Marcus Davenport has been ruled out of this contest with a toe injury... while the Rams seem relatively healthy with CB Sam Shields the only one listed as "questionable" or worse... and he's questionable with just an illness, not an actual injury.

IT'S THE BATTLE FOR FIRST IN THE NFC!!! LET'S MAKE OUR CLAIM TO THE #1 SEED AND KEEP ON ROLLING!!! WHO DAT!!!

Uniforms: The Saints will be in the all-black uniforms today

Ill give this dude some leeway... he damn near died in 2007 when he suffered an aortic aneurysm and doctors thought he wasn't going to survive the next 2 days following

good fight by him to get back on the field and eventually earn a spot as head referee of a Super Bowl

The Saints are the right pick today just like Bama was yesterday. Today is going to be a big Brees day.

I’m ready to see Brees and the boys.

I’m ready to see the execution of the forward pass.

I’m ready to see plenty of touchdowns.

oh goodness... WASH was already down an offensive lineman coming into the game

1 was taken on a wheelchair to the locker room early in the 1st Qtr

and now another is down

so that's 3 starting offensive linemen currently out of the game for the 'Skins

Dang, didn’t know that. I definitely give him credit for that. Just hope he calls a fair game, I seem to remember some bad calls by him, I think vs Philly in the playoffs a few years back especially.

That said, Geaux Saints! Let’s whip the Rams!

Best of luck Saints from a Rams fan.

Best atmosphere in the NFL, best two teams in the NFL. Going to be fun.
