So Benson doesn't find out. They probably consider it a waste of time explaining it to him.

They have to keep appearances when talking to the media.

Exactly my thoughts. Obviously Loomis is Benson's guy but he doesn't need to be GM. Pay him GM money but get him out of the way of Ireland. Ireland is already basically getting the GM money, but if the title is really what he wants then we need to make it happen. Not worth losing him over

How much do y’all think Benson is still involved in high level decisions like that? I imagine he is, just seems kinda strange being his diminished mental capacity.

You serious bro? Ireland has been a GM previously and is essentially the GM now. Not to mention that his recent success in the drafts has surely made him a target for multiple other teams.

What do you expect Ireland to say? I am not interested in winning but getting a better job in L.A. not LA.
