Well someone made a Baun and Nolan Smith comp in this thread. Which was even more absurd.
Obviously I know Parsons and Nolan Smith aren’t the exact same. But they have a similar skillset.
But this fit argument is still extremely weak. If you are trying to win games long term. You should take the best player available. Not the best fit.
Perhaps the Saints thought Breece was the best player. I’m just tired of this fanbase blindly supporting and defending what the Saints do. Because we make a lot of mistakes as a franchise.
The largest one in recent memory being the Olave trade.

We lost several winnable games due to our defense. I’m not a how many yards did we give up guy. I’m a situation guy. Our defense was situationally terrible in several winnable games last year. And the unit is getting older on the whole. I think it’s okay to tweak the scheme and just make sure we have the most talented 11 out on the field in every situation. If that means taking Payton Turner off of the field on pass rush downs and putting someone like Nolan Smith out there instead, that pick would have been a win.
