Ingram is a groove back.

He gets better the more carries he gets. He is a grinder that eventually breaks something because of his physicality.

When he runs east-west is when I grimace.

Dude just needs to focus on the goal posts where the Saints will score a touchdown.

Totally agree.

When he played well last year he was getting 20+ carries. 8-12 carries doesn't do it for him.

so we should just keep handing him the ball watching him get stuffed for no gains in hopes that at some point in the game he 'finds his groove'. You only do something like that if you have an elite back, like a Marshan Lynch, you don't do it with a mediocre back like Ingram.

Due to numerous injuries we had a knee jerk reaction and overpaid to move up to grab Ingram

true, if we had used a 5-6th round pick on him instead of moving up in the 1st to get him then I don't think he would be viewed as such a bust.

CSP seems hell bent on trying to validate the decision

Ingram is a solid NFL RB as a back up. NOt as the primary RB for a NFL team. That CSP keeps pushing him into a starters role is the most aggravating thing about the situation.

We paid way too much draft wise and contract wise for Ingram. I was excited about the pick but he just hasn't shown much

Yes. Because he is a groove back and was not splitting as many carries.

I kind of think this is a lot of crap and frequently a cop out response.

From what I could tell he did a lot better last year because he started running with a lot more aggression and authority.

I don't think he is a running back-by-committee type of guy. Some guys excel in that scenario.

He is not one.

the only scenario I really see him excel in is when the O-line makes a big hole for him to run through. when the oline is able to block and make a big hole for him to run through he is able to run through it in most cases.

That's a scenario most running backs excel in.

Hell, I could excel in that type of scenario.
