How about the people that don’t like LSU just leave the site completely?

You cam find your way to saintsreport. This is called “tiger” droppings last time I checked.

In all fairness, this board is called "Saints Talk."

I'm not sure about any relevance to this stat at all, however, I am sure that I dont care about this stat at all.

I'm an lsu alum and fan, but at this point, I kind of enjoy them not taking lsu players because I get to see the melt and butt hurt from some of you small minds around here.

Chiefs - 5
Chargers - 5
49ers - 5
Packers - 4
Seahawks - 4
Panthers - 3
Eagles - 3
L.A cheaters - 2
Colts - 2
N.E.Cheaters - 2
Vikings - 2
Saints - 2 (2010, 2018)
Ravens - 1

I wouldn’t consider these shitty. Especially the Chiefs who just won the super bowl and are at 5.
Or the 49ers who were in the Super Bowl and are at 5.

So 37.5 percent of the league have drafted as many or less LSU players than the Saints

You are correct. I just said that.

The bigger point is that the Saints have one if the best records in the league since Payton arrived, so whatever they’re doing personnel wise is effective. The college the players went to is really irrelevant, no matter how much this board loves LSU players. The fact that so many teams with much worse records than the Saints draft more LSU players helps illustrate that.

The Saints owe LSU nothing and their bottom line is not hurt by skipping over LSU players they don’t value. This isn’t show friends, it’s show business. They simply don’t care unless it ultimately helps them.

That was my takeaway from these numbers as well. If I was in the draft room and making decisions the college that the player went to would have zero effect on my decision-making. Especially considering the Saints have made phenomenal players out of schools like Hofstra, Towson and Arkansas-pine Bluff. But as a fan, I love to see players that I can identify with, especially local players. And, especially at the professional level, sports are entertainment for the fans.

It is what it is. The Saints don't need to draft LSU players but I would certainly like to see the Saints draft LSU players. Is that such a thought crime?

LOL. I don't know about that, now. The NFL is highly nepotistic. The Saints struggled for a while there because Sean Payton wouldn't let go of his buddies in the staff and as soon as he did the team started to turn it around especially with hires like Ireland. Many coaches like to surround themselves with people they are comfortable with. That's not always best available and it doesn't usually translate to success. The best coaches seem to just go out and get the best coaches and players available regardless of their relationship to them. I hate to use these two douchebags as examples but think Belichick and Saban.
