If you’re Watson and winning really is as important to you as he’s said in the past

They don’t have to eat the big chunk from Ryan. That’s been reported for awhile. I’d imagine it’d be a couple of guys going there to team up with him if it happens.

Yeah Landry, Fuller, Pitts gives you a pretty diverse and solid trio for likely fairly cheap. You can draft a RB. Will take awhile to build that defense though.

We’ve been much better recently, but they’ve been to a Super Bowl much more recently. Our head coach was pretty terrible in his only stint as one. The 3 guys most crucial to our success over the past 15 years are Brees, Payton, and Loomis. 2 of those are gone.

We had one. Downgraded at Safety. Cam, Davis, Jenkins, and Kwon aren’t getting any younger. We may have to give up a guy or 2 in the trade as well.

Will we still? Armstrong may not re-sign. May have to trade Ruiz. And while he sucked, he did play more snaps than anybody on the team, I think. So we may have to fill 2 holes there with little cap money, and not much draft capital.

MT’s coming off a serious injury, and Kamara’s probably looking at a nice suspension. Need to draft a RB to fill in for him while he’s out and that can back him up when he comes back. Also need a #2 WR. But again, we don’t have the draft capital to fill all these roles unless we just really hit on some mid-round guys.

I’m not sure you’re not thinking about it completely logically. And he’s got 10 years left—he doesn’t have to win in Atlanta this year. And playing closer to home may be attractive to him. Sure, we’ll be better this year. But I think you’re underestimating how different our roster is gonna look if we pull this off. And though they’ve been bad lately, the Falcons have been a pretty good franchise. You act like they’re the Lions. And the Saints’ new regime has some unknowns. He may choose the Saints—I hope he does—but it’s not the complete no-brained you suggest.
