I love drew but if you couldn’t see he held us back the last few years then you are blind. Just look at how defenses gave us fits in the playoffs.

you don't have to stick in your gimmick/part time QB to throw a deep ball anymore. That DEFINITELY was the case last year. Now, you can do it with your competent/not yet elite starter.
I think this frees Payton up, he doesn't have to craft a plan to cater to his QB's limitations anymore. I mean, he does, in that Jameis isn't as all-prepared as Drew was, but he brings back whole chapters in the playbook that have been shelved.

I mean at first you could have had a good point but then completely whiffed. The last 2-3 years Drew did hold the Saints back but it wasn’t because he was selfish, he was the opposite. His body just let him down.

I am glad you brought up 2018. What happened in overtime? The rams defense gave us fits. People forget what happen after that horrible call. We didn’t get it done.
