I hope we cut Ruiz in the offseason.

Total waste of a pick. He has to be the absolute worse starting guard in the nfl.
And he was suppose to be the best interior lineman in the draft. It’s why you never draft guards or centers in the first round.
And with Koolaid getting burnt all season, it’s not looking good again for our recent draft picks. The entire front office and scouts need to be purged.

Ruiz was our worst kept secret in the off-season. People were so delusional to consider him a “good piece”. He’s absolutely awful.

Unfortunately, I don't think they can move him until after next season. The hope is that he's relegated to a swing position that can back up the 3 interior linemen positions for his last year here.
Ruiz's 2026 cap hit is currently sitting at $14.2M, if they cut him it will bump up to $16.8M. Sure, they can make him a post 6/01 cut; but I think with all of the other money flushing from the cap next year they may sit on him to make 2027 as clean as possible.
quote:
$62M in dead money in 2026 between Carr, Ram, Mathieu, Saunders, Gray, Foskey, Cedrick Wilson & Haener
$48M in future dead money due to void years if Taysom, Cam, Demario, & Moreau are not extended before the new league year
2026 cap is expected to be $308M, and we'll have $110M tied up in dead cap; 35.7%

This is fricking ridiculous. Loomis needs to be fired yesterday. And someone was arguing the money we gave Cooks wasn’t a big deal.
No free agents other than for min deals should have been signed in the offseason.
