How nervous would you have been on the Gruppe extra point?

I was more worried about his XP than I was about us scoring - at least until the 3rd down play.

I was so convinced that he would miss the kick that I had decided that we would DEFINITELY go for 2 when we scored.

Would have been amazing to see it play out. Oh well.

This is how the game would have ended.

Gruppe makes XP - looks a little shaky but it goes through close to right down the middle - just not with the normal oomph.

Then Gruppe kicks off out of bounds. Puts his head in his hands. Dennis Allen just closes his eyes and shakes his head, looking up at the Superdome ceiling.

Trev runs for 10 yards, first down. Incomplete pass. Short dump to Etienne for 6 yards. Timeout with 4 seconds left.

Brandon McManus makes (of course he makes) a 61 yarder at the buzzer to kill us.

He would’ve missed the XP

No doubt in my mind

You go for two with Taysom Hill at QB. Better odds of winning vs. making an extra point kick and trying to win on OT.

I agree with you but Allen would not have gone for two. Dude is the most conservative coach ever.
