Defense did fairly well through 3 qtrs. Defense also had them stopped a couple times on that last drive but stupid/marginal calls went against us.

run D was better than usual except the long TD run they had. I think it was that play that changed the momentum for good.

but there were a few times where we blew up run plays for a loss, guys swarming to the ball more. PJ Williams don't mind sticking his nose in there and making a hit. So that's cool.

I went into this game expecting a loss, for two big reasons:

1. I expected our offensive line to shite the bed.
2. I expected our defense to shite the bed.

I was very pleasantly surprised that or offensive line somehow managed to cobble together a decent game. I'd be interested to see the pff stats for this one.

But the defense is what it is. It's the same thing every year for the saints: offense is good to great, defense is atrocious and ends up losing games more often than not, because we can't stop anybody.

So anyone expecting a win today, I can understand that pov, but realistically this team is .500 at best, simply because of the lack of defense. Breaux with a broken fibula just puts the nail in the coffin for that side of the ball imo.

We'll just have to be on the right side of a shootout all year. At least it's good for my fantasy team.

I've been watching the Saints for decades. If they have a 14 point lead in the 4th quarter with 30 seconds left, anything can happen.

Without Breaux the "D" is about the same or a little worse than last year. The offense appears to be better than last year.

After looking at the Saints schedule they should beat LA and SF. Their schedule is more difficult this year than last year. They could go 2-14 or 5-11. Anything more will be a surprise.
IF they replace Breaux with a good CB, and Rankins comes back, they could go 7-9.
