Everyone keeps acting like we are made to win now and the coaching is holding us back. Yall are pretending like we are so talented and if we only had a half decent coach we'd be on our way to making a playoff run. There's not a single unit on the New Orleans Saints that is elite IMO.

QB: below average
RBs: slightly above avg?
WR/TE: avg.
O-line: above avg. despite everyone on here bitching about them for Carr being cheeks
D-line: cheeks
Secondary: slightly above avg.
Linebackers: decent

To further detail.

Cam had a substantially down year.
Granderson is nice and improved but he's not a top 10 edge rusher.
Payton Turner was non existent again w injury.
Lattimore went down and was a huge loss starting at the @atl and lions game which proved critical.

It’s not that hot. We have an aging roster and our best defensive players are all in their 30s save for lattimore who is in his late prime as a defender.

Our two biggest weapons are an aging rb without breakaway speed and a WR who runs crisp routes but isn’t a guy where you have to game plan around.

Derek Carr’s ceiling is above average.

We have a very pedestrian pass rush and our lines as a whole aren’t spectacular.

The bill for all this is the worst cap situation in the league. We’ve kicked the can for mediocrity.

QB: below average

This always gives me a chuckle. Carr’s QBR is sandwiched in between CJ Stroud and Trever Lawrence. Are they below average as well?

Lot of Allen fans here... you don't have a winning record in the nfl without players or coaching.

Carr is exactly 16th in QBR which makes him exactly average in that one cherry picked stat. Congrats on proving my point for me

What about passer rating?

What is yall's obsession with QBR and Passer rating. Mayfield has a better passer rating than Patrick fricking mahomes. Does that make him the better qb? If you can't admit that Carr is a below avg QB in terms of talent, upside, ability to win games and putting points on the board then I really dont know what to tell you.

Passer Rating - 10th
QBR - 17th
Yards Per Attempt - 17th
Completion % - 6th
Pass Int % - 5th
Pass TD % - 5th

So Many Stats

Maybe look up the numbers before posting next time….

Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Herbert, Lamar, Hurts, Prescott, Tua, Stafford, Purdy, Goff, Stroud, Cousins, Aaron Rodgers, Trevor Lawerence, Russell Wilson, Jordan Love. 17 names off the top of my head. I think everyone can agree that you'd rather have any of these QBs over Carr. There's another handful of names that I personally would rather have. But these names are not debatable. He's a below average qb. This should not be a debate

Well that explains it. After all, DA doesn’t even play. So simple to accept it now.

Most of the numbers say he’s average to slightly above average. Your opinion doesn’t change that no matter how many names you list without any context.

Also, Russell Wilson Lulz

Yall hijacked this thread and turned it into a Carr thread. This was the nicest and non biased I've ever been to Carr. Didnt even mention him by name in the opening post. In what world is calling the Saints QB situation below avg. a controversial statement. Holy frick this board is full of face painters.

Your numbers dont take into account the handful of guys who are injured or had one slightly down year or the rookies like Bryce Young who were straight cheeks but we also dont know what they will end up being. I didn't name Mayfield, you know the guy who just won the division and a playoff game. Something Carr has never done.

Yep. And he’s about to demand a huge contract.

Yes. Stats don't tell you the full story unfortunately. There's this other thing called common sense

2023 stats would tell you that Derek Carr is better than Joe burrow. Common sense would tell you that you're fricking retarded for thinking that.

“Common sense” like claiming Russell Wilson is better than Derek Carr? Or that the offensive line was “above average”.

You hate Carr. We all get it, trust me.
