His worth comes down to his contract though. He doesn't earn his pay check, and that is where the problem comes in.

And that all comes down to the rookie salary cap, which is the major failure in this whole equation.

This pretty much is it. Shoulda never got the money but he did and hasn't earned it. The Saints can't get the money back but to pay him again is the wrong move.

Reggie Bush's problems have been injuries. His advantage was his speed in the open. He never was and never will be a 1,000 yards/year rusher, but he should be a 1,000+ total yards/year. Reggie appears to have slowed considerably since breaking his leg (no fault of his). If Reggie can condition himself to regain the quickness and speed, he worth $4million + per year.

This thread is retarded.

You posted stats, but you don't even seek an answer to the question in your subject. I'm not sure if there has been a big play threat that has made less big plays, but I'm sure there has been, why don't you post those stats?

At least the Reggie bash posts have subjects that are clear on Reggie bashing; and yes, there are plenty of Reggie bash posts like this. This thread is a detriment to the board.

Maybe but what is more frustrating is that he still tries to give guys the shoulder shake and then when they don't bite, dives out of bounds.

i think also myself and SFP helped lead that charge as well.

Which he could do as a WR out of the backfield.

He struggled to catch simple 5-10 yard passes to him, I can't how he'd make a really solid WR at all.

who would you pick in retrospect that could have had the impact Bush had for the Saints, both off the field and on the field?

throw out the money. Throw out "trading back".

and keep in mind this was coming off the Katrina season, where the team and city both needed a jump start.

I dont even love Reggie, but i think 10 times out of 10 i would pick him in that spot.

I was in favor of AJ Hawk(granted I wanted Mario Williams first and foremost but he obviously wasn't an option with the 2nd pick). Granted, hindsight is 20/20 and it certainly worked out with us getting Vilma. Though I think Hawk would have been better on the field over the course of 5 years than Reggie.

I wouldn't say tha the would have had the same off the field impact, obviously.

That's tough to say. I think he does well when he catches the ball in space and seems to have the goods for a good slot receiver.

Bush is a decent player, but not worth the money (or even close) and i'm ready to see him go

this is dumb. He wasn't a bad draft pick. he just didnt live up. what i'm getting from you is that you and a couple of your msg board buddies are better NFL scouts than 9/10 of the ones working the NFL. Wow, whoever your boss is should be grateful that you lower youself to pass up all these NFL jobs and work for him for pennies on the dollar

exactly, that draft was pretty average at the top. Bush was a slam dunk pick.

a lot of people say Ferguson, but we had taken Jammal Brown a year or 2 before.

AJ Hawk has been ok, but if i remember right, GB was ready to trade him 2-3 years ago.

he is a bust, plain and simple, cut your losses on him and kick him to the curb...

Wouldn't call him a bust because he has contributed, even if it isn't consistent. I will say he is worth more for a trade than he is for new Orleans football.

Not in the NFL.

In his 5 year career, he's made less big plays on offense than many plenty of "average" running backs.

This makes no sense whatsoever. How is it dumb if I turned out to be correct?

What I'm getting from you is you don't understand the dynamics of a message board where people give there opinions on stuff.

quote:

Wow, whoever your boss is should be grateful that you lower youself to pass up all these NFL jobs and work for him for pennies on the dollar

Yes, because my opinions on a message board mean I think I should work in the NFL. That makes perfect sense. Awesome logic.
