and it isn't close between the Saints and the 2nd worse, Browns. Loomis has completely destroyed the Saints ability to sign players. The Saints must go young.

There are two options.
Option 1: Keep doing what we’ve been doing and kicking the can down the road. This limits our options and will leave us in the perpetual 11-20 draft range.
Option 2: Do a major purge, pay the piper for the previous year’s bullshite, field the worst team in the nfl for a few years, stack some back to back top 5 pick years and start the rebuild. Do what smart teams have been doing. Go through QBs on rookie contracts, building up the team around them with the savings and at the end of their rookie deals, go get another until you find the franchise QB.
All that said, Loomis will stay on option 1 until he either is fired or dies.

The NFL is way simpler than this board believes. Most teams are a qb/coach away from being competitive. Most teams have similar talent levels outside of a handful of positions.

I'm not sure about that. The dead cap savings post June 1'st are negative numbers. I may be wrong.
