Final Quarter Push

Has anyone noticed that this team starts off slow and then makes a strong push at the end of the game, when it's basically out of reach?
Even when we had Drew, sometimes we would have to play catch up.
Would you blame that on a slow offensive start, or a poor defensive start? A perfect example was last night being down 20-7. It is like all of a sudden, a light bulb goes off and it all 'clicks'.

Defense lightens up so the field opens up a bit. They force them inbounds so it eats up the clock giving them a false hope that they can come back.

It's natural to ease up a bit when you're up big (and also strategic). Rams defense allowed Carr to march down the field with checkdowns, costing significant time - 6 minute drive to score the TD to Juwan. Rams also put their backup RB in and started running the clock out for several drives until we got the AssTime Perry TD.
Score was not indicative of the beatdown the Saints received.

I'd blame it on terrible coaching/game management. Going for it on 4th at midfield and not converting several times instead of punting and making Stafford have to drive the whole field. We could have potentially gone into halftime down 3 or 6 instead of 10.
Also, the play calling on those 4th downs was terrible. You need five yards and all of the routes are either long and Carr ends up taking a sack or too short and the guy can't get to the sticks.

I’m old enough to remember three years of Aaron Brooks putting up tremendous garbage time numbers with Horn, Stallworth and Pathon.
That’s basically what we are at this point.

Shut it down when went up to 27-7. knew the saints would probably bring the score closer but it would of been all too late. I cried that night and my wife looked at me and smacked the shite out of me.
