I guess it all boils down to what is more likely.
I'm wondering how a passer by recognized, by name, some random retired NOPD officer in pitch black darkness, going through a vehicle. And why won't this person testify? Why on earth would they "fear for their life"?
There were a number of other witnesses who didn't see this.
And if he and the Smith's are truly friends, why wouldn't he go to her and comfort her? I certainly would. I agree, however that theven DNA does not prove he wasn't in the vehicle, though. Hell, he has likely been in the vehicle before placing his DNA in the Mercedes.

The witness is indeed worthless until she testifies herself.
We also know Ceravolo was a captain, not just an officer. And he certainly knew Hayes.
It just smells like tilapia to me.

Yes, but how did the witness recognize Ceravalo, specifically? Hell, Hayes allegedly didn't even recognize Will Smith. He was told who he shot after the fact. It was very dark.

It's certainly possible that a witness saw someone, anyone, move a gun. And if this were some plain clothes individual with a badge around their neck, I would not blame that person for hesitating to tell NOPD.
Ceravolo was wearing a somewhat distinct tan shirt from the pictures available. It's not impossible the witness noticed the Twitter picture of Ceravolo, Smith, and Thomas the next day or so, as many of us did. At that point maybe she put two and two together, and told someone besides NOPD.

There was another write up from last June about him having the big head and not getting along with other Giants players in the locker room because of it. Cant find it.
Friend of mine lives in New York and is a huge Giants fan. Its a well known fact that hes not liked in the locker room up there.
