Eventually Drew Brees has to be replaced. So how does that play out?

I'll take a stab at it. Brees retires and they go out and sign a free agent like a Nick Foles type guy who can "game manage" a roster of young offensive threats and survive behind an opportunistic defense. Problem is that while otherworldly talent helps MT and AK stay on top, the rest of the offense can't hold up without one of the GOATs under center. So... we have a couple shitty seasons that put us in a position to draft our next QB of the future in the top 10. He either works out or he doesn't.

The end.

Nick Foles

If we signed Foles, we'd be in the Super Bowl next year.

Bring Hill in for short yardage, Bree's in for medium range, Foles in for long passes. A triple threat option at qb.

And we would have over $50 million in QB contracts

Saw this on a post from a few weeks ago so I'll share it.

Next year we tear up the league. Brees rides off into the sunset with a Lombardi in each hand. 2020 we tank so bad. It baffles the NFL. We're completely under-the-radar. Then enters the Trevor Lawerence era....

In all seriousness I get a feeling Taysom will be the bridge between Brees and his actual successor.

Yeah I agree, they may do this if the right "Nick Foles type guy" isn't out there.

However he wants it. That's how it'll play out.

Ask Roger Goodell. He seems to be in complete control of the Saints franchise.

I hope it ends up with Tua on the Saints or Trevor Lawrence. Mostly Trevor Lawrence.

Viking thought the same thing when they threw the bank at cousins after being 1 game away from Super Bowl... look how that turned out. Sometimes talent isnt better than fit.

Cousins hasn't won at any level. He wasn't worth anywhere near the amount he got. I heard fans hoping we would sign him and I'm glad we didn't. He is like Matt Stafford. All stats.

We wait for his first born to graduate college as a 1st round pick and we take him. Until then, Drew plays on!
