I know he's coming off an injury but why not sign a Safety in FA and take a chance on Jackson in later rounds . He's projected 3-5 . He was looking like a top Safety prospect before the injury. He is extremely versatile playing Corner, Nickel and both safety spots at Bama while also being a dangerous return man.

LINK

Dudes instincts and closing speed are ridiculously good which is something we haven't had a Safety in a long time. He can patrol the middle of the field but also come down in the box and lay the wood.

If he makes it into the late rounds, this would be an awesome pick

I wonder how late though. I can't remember when he broke his leg but nowadays guys come back from broken bones pretty fast. It was like mid or late season so maybe November. He'd be ready for June. I'm sure he's back running already . I wouldn't mind him in the 3rd.

If he gets into the 4th or 5th, this would be a killer pick.

He may be able to run at the second Alabama Pro Day later this month. If he puts up some good numbers it may take a late 3rd to land him. If not, we may be able to grab him in the 6th.

10 career picks and 5 career touchdowns (averaged 30 yards per int return with 2 being returned for 0 yards) in 38 games. Plain and simple, he's a natural. Slight build means he's not going to provide much help in the run game. He's a willing and able tackler but his body won't hold up to the flying down hill and hitting grown men. From a center fielder specialty he's one of, if not the best in the entire draft.

I disagree. He was plenty physical in the run game while at Alabama. I would love to see him in a Saints uniform, and if he lasted past the 3rd round, he'd be an absolute steal.

Eddie is a smart player and a good one. I think he is worth a mid 4th, but we will not pick until Round 5 so he will probably be gone.

you are forgetting, we don't have a 4th or 5th pick

we gave away a 5th last year to move up and we gave the pats our 4th in the cooks trade.

as of today we have 2 firsts 1 second and 2 3rds, one 6th, and one 7th

He'd be a really nice utility guy to have. I'd imagine he would have been late 1st-2nd round territory before injury. If he's recovering well and he's there wouldn't mind a using a pick.

Maybe at an undrafted FA. His injury is a significant one and we have no mid rounds especially after the butler trade takes place. Early than that we have other needs. Can see him ending up in a place like LA Rams or Jacksonsville.

He'd be a steal in round 5 or 6...And you'd get a built in return man

Do you ever attempt an intelligent post or just spew ignorance 100% of the time? He broke a bone with no ligament damage. He's been running for weeks. His injury is less significant than high ankle sprains, turf toe, and sports hernia and more significant than an ingrown toenail. Kenyan Drake's leg was flopping around like a spaghetti noodle and he played running back in the NFL a year later

Again you and your buddies cannot read. Saints talk buddy.... Not Alabama talk.

Eddie J was injured out for the year at Bama last year. The SAINTS will not have any mid round picks after the butler trade. They are not selecting, Allen, foster, Howard, Harrison or Jackson in there first 2 picks. So it would be late or the SAINTS would have to sign him as an UNdrafted free agent. Or otherwise he will not be a saint! Got that. I am not saying he won't get drafted. But maybe you and your crew need to go to the Jacksonville, la Rams boards and spread the wealth of knowledge on what those teams need. Maybe their picks align with your hobbling heap.

This is the main issue. You guys want these fricking banged up players from Bama to be saints. The only one that makes any sense is foster. But he messed that up for himself.

Btw-Kenyon drake, 33 carries last year....workhorse there, right. And even with all of miami' s RB problems.

So that was nice and civil.....

You really are a fricktard, aren't you?

He broke his leg returning a punt against Texas A&M in the 8th game of the season. He was on pace to be a 1st Team All-American.

Harrison is a Junior so he's not even in the draft you fricking moron. They may take Reuben Foster. In case you weren't aware they have scheduled a meeting with him in New Orleans.

Was this thread started by an Alabama fan or an LSU fan? What about the responses?

That "hobbling heap" has beat the shite out of your favorite team 6 times in a row.

You want Alabama fans to stop "peddling" Alabama players as possibilities for the Saints, yet you keep mocking Tre White to them at 32.

How bout you let your hatred for all things Alabama go so you can start looking at things objectively?

Your little dick syndrome routine is getting fricking old.

Lol..... Prove the point....

After the draft let's see who's right.......you guys or me. Either way doesn't make a difference. I am stuck being me and you are stuck being you.

I made some nice civil points and and you come in dressed like Ricky Bobby .....screaming where's my best friend.

Good luck amigo... Keep that persona going...

We're talking about a saints prospect in this thread. Get Alabama off your mind for once

quote:

Right, and he is already running. A broken bone isn't a career threatening injury.

quote:

You have no idea who they're selecting. No clue why you keep mentioning Harrison, he's still at Alabama

quote:

Maybe you need to go back to the tiger rant where they'll appreciate the Bama bashing a little more. To bash the prospects a year after Alabama lead the NFL in all pros just isn't very bright

quote:

This is football cupcake. They're all banged up. Jackson played as much as Fournette last year

quote:

But he messed that up for himself

Mean to a nurse. Oh the horror. Saints would never sign someone with character like that would they. Maybe he should drug and rape a few girls

quote:

Btw-Kenyon drake, 33 carries last year

His leg snapped like a twig and he went in the third round was the point hoss. He still had 622 apy and 3 touchdowns. Not too bad for a rookie

quote:

even with all of miami' s RB problems

The 4th leading rusher in the NFL last year was a dolphin. What a tough problem to have. How tough were those 3 years of 9th grade?

It's not about being right or wrong. You turn into a huge fricking prick anytime someone mentions an Alabama player over here.

Look, I get it. You don't like them because they play for Alabama. Well guess what? They don't play for Alabama anymore. If they get drafted by the Saints who gives a shite where they played college football?

Let it go.
