I would lose respect for Drew if he wasnt there for the birth of their child. Drew knows what to do...job last maybe for twenty years....family forever!

They fricking said on 60 Minutes he wasnt going to miss the game. If that's so "douchey" than why didnt you criticize Drew and Britney when they said it on national TV?
What was said on 60 Minutes was, Britney said if she went into labor while he was out of town for a game she would not call him until after the game.......And then she said Alejandro was a douche.

I heard Drew on the radio this week saying no way he misses the game and let his team down. I dont know if thats right or wrong, but he clearly stated his stance.

OHHHHH NOOOO!!!! You said a tv show I like sucks!!! Surely that means I'm clearly in a rage and stomping around my trailer park right now!!!
Anyway, whatever decision they make is fine. I believe you are a douche because you are criticizing him in the event he decides to skip the game for the birth of his child. You're awesome though. Keep up the good work.

What a douche Brees is then!!! Doesnt he realize that his wife absolutely NEEDS him standing in the corner holding her hand?!?
You guys are a bunch of sentimental weaklings. I knew Breesus wouldn't let us down.

The overglorification of childbirth in the past 30 years has gotten ridiculous IMHO.
The irony if this statement while you're freaking out about Brees possibly missing a GAME is pretty damn funny.
That being said, there is zero chance(other than some crazy circumstances I won't even mention lol) he misses a game no matter when she gives birth.

Oh so now the saints are just "playing a game".
Last year they were giving a city hope, hundreds of millions of dollars of free advertising, and brought all races and ages together.
Now it's just a game tho.

My bad, you're right. A super important football is easily more important than Brees's kid. What was I thinking?

that's all I'm sayin'. You've seen one, you've seen them all.
You can have another baby, but there's only one road game at Tampa Bay this year.

Obviously the football game is not more important than a human life, but a human life is not at stake here.
A father being present at the birth of his child has zero impact on the proceedings.
The funny thing is that despite all the criticism I've received in this thread, it sounds like Drew Brees agrees with me that the game would have to take priority over standing nervously by a bed saying "cmon honey you got this I love you."

I know where Drew is coming from. I mean, for my first child, I had this set of drawings to mark up for this small project I was in charge of completing. I stayed and finished those mark-ups and made sure I put my company first! Me and Drew.....we are almost exactly the same.

Is that what you are getting from his statement? That he feels he would be totally useless and that even if he didn't have a game he could just not show up?
While you and Brees might have reached the same conclusion, that he doesn't have to be there, the 2 paths of logic used to arrive there were completely different. And you my friend took the path less traveled.
