What a perfect example of mass reproduction in the card industry. Brees literally signed a 1000 of those dirn things as an auto rookie card. Now, you might have /20.

This is exception as it’s rated 10. I think like less than 5% get graded that high. The card being rated a 9 is about average on those submitted for grading in the current era (card era)- i.e. last 25 years.

I have boxes of baseball and football cards that I kept in pretty good condition. Maybe it's time I go through them.

Right? Did cards make a comeback overnight that I’m just hearing about?

I got back into the hobby about a year ago, don’t even remember why. Bought NBA rookie cards mainly. Luka Doncic, Zion, Giannis, Lebron are all insane margins right now if you bought a year ago. One of the Luka cards I bought for $13 and it’s now sold regularly at $250+. Guys like Gary Vee are pumping out buyers and the prices keep going up. It will absolutely bust though.

90s-early 00s is the junk era for cards. They were mass produced.

There has been a MASSIVE uptick in the market for cards over the last 2 years. I expect that to last another year or two, then it will go down. Then it will come back up a few years after.

If you know the sport well you’re likely better at predicting trends and who will be good. I did that with Luka, Tatum, Trae Young. For long term holds get Lebron, and old school players like Barkley, Pippen, etc.

Yeah, I see where the price of Fleer rookie Jordan has practically tripled, the rookie sticker has also taken off...
