I agree.

Lattimore
Adebo
PRob
Dre Kirkpatrick
Crawley

We also have Grant Haley, Keith Washington, Bryce Thompson (udfa), & Lawrence Woods (udfa)

We've had better, but we've also had much much worse.

P Rob is oldest player on team and couldn’t stay healthy for us when he wasn’t geriatric.

Latty gets more inconsistent every year and is now living the thug lyfe.

I think we’re all intrigued by Adebo, but he’s a rookie who didn’t play last season. History tells us he probably won’t be a great option THIS year.

PJ is just terrible.

Hope Dre or Sherman or somebody can be pretty good, because if not, yikes.

PRob sucked in 2019, but he had a good year on the outside in 2020.

Hopefully he can do it 1 more year.

When we had Crawley as our #2, & he fell off a cliff. I think that was the 2018 season.

He was injured & had to recover during the off-season. He might not be ready to play yet.

Per nbcsportsedge nbcsportsedge is the old rotoworld site. I guess they bought rotoworld or something. Not really sure.

Conley's last 2 updates...

From September 7, 2020...

Texans placed CB Gareon Conley (ankle) on injured reserve.

Conley rushed his way back onto the field following offseason ankle surgery but was unable to convince the organization he was ready to play while struggling through camp. Lonnie Johnson, who had been competing for a starting job in his own right, will play across from Bradley Roby in Week 1. Conley is eligible to return as early as Week 4.

From Nov 13, 2020...

The Houston Chronicle's Aaron Wilson reports Texans CB Gareon Conley (ankle, I.R.) is not expected to return this season after complications following surgery.

Per Wilson, Conley's rehab didn't go well and issues affected his mobility and flexibility, causing pain. Conley is scheduled to hit free agency next offseason.

Last 3 updates for Kirkpatrick... LINK

From Nov 6, 2020...

Cardinals CB Dre Kirkpatrick (thigh) was ruled out for Week 9 against the Dolphins.

Kirkpatrick is a starter and has played admirably for a defense that's played over expectations this season. Expect CB Patrick Peterson to defend DeVante Parker with Preston Williams and Mike Gesicki as secondary options for Tua Tagovailoa in the desert.

From May 13, 2021

Free agent CB Dre Kirkpatrick is visiting the Patriots on Thursday.

The longtime Bengal started 11 games for the Cardinals last season, notching three picks and seven deflections. Headed into his age-32 campaign, Kirkpatrick did earn subpar PFF marks last season after a gradual decline in Cincinnati. He would provide experienced depth for the league's brightest defensive mind in New England after Jason McCourty recently left in free agency.

From Jun 7, 2021

Free agent CB Dre Kirkpatrick is visiting the Saints on Thursday.

32-year-old Kirkpatrick has gradually declined across his career with the Bengals (and during last year's 11 starts for Arizona) but the Saints are admittedly in need of a league-average player across from Marshon Lattimore. Kirkpatrick also visited with the Patriots recently and will likely be signed in the next few weeks given his number of interested suitors.

I'm starting to like Kirkpatrick a little more

Saints bringing in veteran CB Dre Kirkpatrick for a visit, per reports

Saints have started looking at the cornerback market LINK

The New Orleans Saints are bringing in veteran cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick for a visit, first reported by Nader Mirfiq and now Ian Rapoport. The Saints have been in the market for a veteran CB since releasing Janoris Jenkins. Kirkpatrick spent last season with the Arizona Cardinals where he started 11 games and appeared in 14 with three interceptions. He played 506 coverage snaps with the Cardinals last year, per Pro Football Focus.

Kirkpatrick played in man coverage 43.3% of the time last season allowing a 66% completion percentage with two touchdowns and an interception. When in zone coverage 53.4% of the time, he surrendered a 64.9% completion percentage when targeted with no touchdowns and two interceptions. The Ex-Bengals CB played 8 seasons with Cincinnati tallying 10 interceptions and 302 tackles.

Kirkpatrick also met with New England Patriots on May 13th but no deal was done. He signed with the Arizona Cardinals last year on a one-year deal worth less than $2 million. Now, he could be looking for a similar deal with the Saints considering the cap issues.

Meh. I know Glenn is gone (wasn't a fan), but our secondary is the weakest link every year. This signing isn't going to make or break anything.

The New Orleans Saints may be on the verge of shoring up one of their biggest areas of need prior to the 2021 season, hosting veteran cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick for a visit, according to an NFL Network report.

The 31-year-old Kirkpatrick is a nine-year NFL veteran who spent last season with the Arizona Cardinals, matching his career high with three interceptions.

He spent the first eight years of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals, who selected him 17th overall in the 2012 NFL draft. Cincinnati released him midway through a five-year, $52.5 million contract after the conclusion of the 2019 season.

He played on a one-year, $1.87 million contract with the Cardinals last season.

In 113 career games, Kirkpatrick has recorded 13 career interceptions and 72 passes defended.

New Orleans has not been shy about its desire to upgrade its cornerback group before the start of the 2021 season. It released Janoris Jenkins this spring, creating $7 million in cap relief but also opening a hole at its starting boundary corner spot opposite Marshon Lattimore.

The Saints drafted Stanford corner Paulson Adebo in the third round of the 2021 draft, but suggested after the draft they would still consider adding a veteran to the mix.

If the Saints intended to sign Kirkpatrick, they would need to make a corresponding move. According to NFLPA records, New Orleans has just $348,664 in cap space as of Monday afternoon.

He did play above average mostly.

He wasn't as good as Jack Rabbit, but he was definitely better than Crawley after Crawley lost it.

It was now or never with Kirkpatrick. Conley looks like he won't be ready to start the season, Nelson will be expensive with that many suitors, & Poole is a slot CB.

Kirkpatrick & Sherman are all that's left, & Kirkpatrick is cheap & ready to sign. This is the smart singing imo.

Something else to consider...

Sherman's market should go up after Kirkpatrick is off the board. Sherman & Nelson will be the only 2 remaining outside CB's that are worth a shite, & Nelson will be a lot more expensive.

We were pretty much forced to do this, but at least we saw the writing on the wall & reacted accordingly.

1 last article that says he should be able to play the slot as well.

The Saints are looking at a veteran cornerback ahead of training camp, which makes a ton of sense.

The Saints are hosting veteran cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick on a visit Monday, according to multiple reports.

It's no secret, but the Saints could use a veteran cornerback or two in training camp, as their current depth chart is less than ideal.

New Orleans is expected to roll with Marshon Lattimore and rookie Paulson Adebo as their starters, but the depth behind those two look like Patrick Robinson, Ken Crawley, Keith Washington, Grant Haley, Bryce Thompson, Lawrence Woods, and Deuce Wallace.

Bob Rose pitched Kirkpatrick as one of the veterans the Saints could target at the beginning of May, saying this:

The 12th overall pick from Alabama in the 2012 draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. Kirkpatrick had 10 interceptions in eight years with the Bengals and led Arizona with 3 interceptions last year. He gave up 66% completion percentage last season, but surrendered just 2 touchdowns and has broken up 72 passes in his career.

Kirkpatrick has prototypical size at 6’2” 190-Lbs and has the athleticism for man coverage at both outside and slot positions. He’s never been the most physical press corner, but has the size and playing style to fit the New Orleans scheme.

Kirkpatrick, who turns 32 in October, recently visited the Patriots.

The Saints presumably have some work to do with their salary cap situation to make room, but that's never stopped them before. This will be one to keep an eye on, and it makes a ton of sense.
