Payton knew that once they got up 2 scores he could just run the ball and pass every now and then and get the W. He called the game like it should have been called. Hill looked stagnant early but he eventually came around and controlled the game. Of course he is still learning but the Saints are still winning so it's all good. These are good times fellas. Enjoy this one.

Denver defense was also in a heightened sense to play well today knowing what was going on with their offense.

Lol. Look, i think each side has overreacted to both of hills games. No matter which side you’re on each thread is nothing but overreactions. And you’re right, the game plan i knew was coming was run heavy and just get out of there. But there is no excuse for how bad hill was. He was horrible. He couldn’t read the defense, he decided to hold the ball with open receivers streaming down the field, snd was horribly inaccurate all game. He fumbled (again) and also turned the ball over. I’m pulling for the guy but if he can’t learn to read a defense and go through progressions along with learning to get to the ball to Kamara for check downs then his career as a starter in the nfl will be very short lived.

Hill to me looks too worried to make a mistake. He hesitates too much and is had trouble seeing the field. However, I missed last week’s game bc of work so maybe he played better in that game. I’m not saying he shouldn’t be starting bc he is still a dynamic playmaker but that is how he looked to me today. And honestly it was ok in a game like this bc it is an easy win if you play it safe but we can’t rely on that every week

His hesitation was on display as a package player and its continued here.

He won. But he won’t win many until he can get the ball out decisively on more than 2-3 routes.

Play good defense, win with average QB play. See Bridgewater 2019.
