I don’t think he will get canned if he doesn’t crack .500.
I want him gone but Mickey will be looking to cover for the hire. Whether the call was his or Ms Gayles. Plus they have the buffer of waiting on next season for Carr to learn Peters offense.

I uderstand that DAs record at the LA Raiers is the main
reason for the lack of confidence in his HCing abilities.
The Raiders have been the worst run franchise for years.
Just like the Saints 1st 20 yrs.The fact that he won 7
games last season with all the injuries and a average QB
tells me DA has potential to be pretty good.
The coaches at the Raiders and the Broncos were BAD coaches
They lost control of their teams when things went bad.DA
kept things together and improved and got some wins .

Yeah, assuming no significant injuries, not making the playoffs would be very disappointing. But without context, you can’t really make the call that no playoffs should cost DA his job. There are injury scenarios where going 8-9 could garner him COY votes.

My biggest hope, though, is that DA and Pete were still feeling their way into their new roles and out from under Sean’s shadow last year. That, combined with the limitations at QB, made them coach a little tighter and more conservative. This year, they need to drop their balls and be more aggressive and creative. Don’t let trying just be “good enough” prevent us being great.

He needs 6-7 more years to rebuild. So probably gets a contract extension
