He was never gonna be an every down back in Payton's system.
He couldn't stay healthy, so of course he wasn't going to be an every down back
He was a MVP front runner in 2008 before his injury

That's why I said Sproles is a lil juggernaut. Rarely gets injured. He is a tough lil knot. I don't disagree with any of what you said. I'm just agreeing with the other poster that Bush was fun to watch.

yeah, he's had health problems with the other teams too. But it doesn't matter if he was healthy or not he was gonna just keep doing that scat back do it all role in Paytons system.

Reggie by far a better player

I hated Reggie more than any player ever while at USC but I loved him with the saints. I wish he was still here but I know I'm in the minority

Reggie Super Bowl champ sproles yet to see it end of story

It seems like it's about 50/50 which is surprising in a way.
Quality thread BTW despite what the haters said early on.

I prefer Sproles with our system but am happy for Reggie's success. Plus factor in cost. It wasn't the best fit for him and he went out and proved himself worthy of more carries. One of those few scenarios where everyone should be happy to me.

I never hated Bush either, but Sproles is:
Cheaper
Less injury prone
and doesn't fumble as much

Sproles runs harder than reggie, period.
Reggie may, MAY be more elusive in open space.
Reggie will constantly look for the home-run. Sproles keeps the offense on schedule.
Sproles is more durable than Reggie.
I prefer Sproles, even if they cost the same. Not hating on Reggie, I like him. I just prefer Sproles.
This. Sproles runs and falls forward.

I remember Drew Brees telling my nephew at training camp that no one worked harder than Reggie to prepare for the season. He caught a lot of crap he didn't deserve here. I am so glad he was able to move on. He's worth every penny he's paid.

You have the most fricked up gifs out of anyone on TD. Fact.

I will take Sproles every time. Draft status not withstanding, Reggie had a terrible habit of running east/west and dancing behind the line tryin to score a TD every play as opposed to just hitting the hole and getting the yards.
Oh, and Sproles has fewer injuries and turnovers.
Pretend this saints didnt take him at #2 and he didnt have all the hype an he probably would have gotten half the touched he did here. Payton forced the ball to him at times and it showed.
He may have outgrown that by now but I haven't cared enough to watch since he left New Orleans
I never had anything against him. He simply wasn't anything special and at time was more of a liability than a weapon

That's absolute crap. More of a liabilty than weapon. LOL You say you have nothing against him, but you sound just like the whiners that was crying he wasn't doing enough to deserve his salary. Yeah, Bush early on in his career ran east-west because he just wanted to make plays. Hit the home run, but in time he learned to read and hit the holes. Bush was spectacular at finding seams that wasn't there and taking it to the house. Whether it was a Drew Brees pass out the backfield or a punt return. He single handidly won a playoff game by himself. Darren Sproles is a dependable hard working lil titan, but Bush was no slouch himself.
