Did the NFL ever say anything about the helmet to helmet hit?

I haven’t seen anything. If the league truly did value player safety like they claim, they should adopt the targeting rule like in college ball.

Making more rules is not the answer. The NFL is selectively enforcing the current rules on player safety. The NFL is not interested in player safety but the appearance of player safety.
Minor players on smaller market teams are food for the fodder. There is a pecking order for concern for player safety.
Don’t let anyone give the appearance of injuring an important storyline player that is heavily marketed.
The NFL drops the hammer against anyone that even gets close to their money makers and future HOFers.

It appears the NFL releases the fine data on Saturdays when no one is paying attention for the previous weekend’s games.

I agree. I do not want to see more rules that could be judgement calls in the game. Continue with the egregious ones, and any close calls or missed calls can be an after the game penalty/fine.
FYI, I did not view the Olave one as egregious because Olave also has a responsibility to protect himself. He instinctively lowered his head to absorb the hit when he saw the defender closing in.

He was a runner at the time of the hit. Close, though

They targeted his head because he has a history of concussions but Roger doesn’t really want to know that they discuss these things in game preparation.

That was the reason for the fumble.
