I have no problems saying it made me tear up a little to read this although I know it was coming. I proudly hand three framed #26 jersey's in my living room. I hope he gets a chance to stay with the team; perhaps in an administrative/coaching role.

Deuce is a great guy and a great saint, but running backs are a dime a dozen. To compare him to Brees in importance is lunacy.

It's not just what Deuce has done on the field, the guy is as stand-up as they come. He's done a lot for the city, and he's NEVER had a problem in the locker room or anywhere. He never hesitated to restructure his contract to help the team. You think Reggie would restucture to make cap room this year if he was asked?

Off the field... still can't hold Drew Brees jock. Drew is a class act as well.

And his restructure was just as much of a business decision. Deuce has gotten paid very handsomely for what services we have received from his hurt arse over the past 4 years.

I think its the fact that Deuce has been around much longer than Drew. Both don't need to be compared to each other as both are equally as great Saints and performed on and off the field in New Orleans

I'm not taking anything away from Drew by any means. He is by far the MVP of this team.

Deuce was a good player for the Saints, great for two of his years and a class act through it all. Beyond that, he's been injury prone and thus overpaid because of his injuries. Seldom did he play through a 16 game season and 6000 yards over 8 seasons isn't exactly worth bragging about. He had a great game agaisnt Philly in the playoffs.

But Deuce is in no way the greatest saint ever and can't even hold Brees' jock now to say the least with what he's accomplished in only 3 years.

Deuce is what the black and gold is about. Team player. Great leader and role model.

Oh, and as far as he and Drew, they BOTH will be first class Saints HOFers. To compare them is rediculous.

Definitely my favorite Ole Miss player of all time - and yes that includes Archie.

Deuce gave a lot to the team, the area, and he always handled himself with class. Hell, he didn't even whip Albert Connel's arse when he pick-pocketed him in the locker room!

One of the all-time greats, he will be missed

Thanks, Deuce, for everything. I hope you know how much you are loved and appreciated in New Orleans. My son's first jersey, I bought him on his 5th birthday. The only one he wanted was #26. He'll wear it till it won't fit anymore, and then we'll frame it. You're a class act, Mr. McAllister, and you will be sorely missed.

Thank you Deuce. No he isnt Drew Brees on the field 504 but anybody who follows the team knows that this man was the heart and soul of that organization.
