Yeh and you don't think Drew Brees doesn't wanna play GB again????
Posted on 11/28/11 at 11:38 pm to 13SaintTiger
You realize no d is going to stop Gb right? Of course we would have to win in a shootout. Its the two best offenses in the league.

What is your point? Mine is clearly the thread title, do you agree or disagree with it?

You really can't evaluate games by stats at all.. There's too many other factors to take into consideration. Typically teams that throw for a ton of yards seem to lose the game. A lot has to do with prevent and the result of another team scoring so much.. it gives the other offense several opportunities.

No I do not realize this crap. Why even put a defense on the field? Hell, how come you realize this but players obviously don't because they keep lining up on the other side of Rodgers. With that being said, they can be stopped which is how they will lose and it is how we have 3 losses.

Backtracking I see... Us and GB scored like 80 combined points.. It's not like we're giving up 40 every week.. Like u said it isn;t college... You don't shut people out in this league.

Saints, Greenbay, and the Patriots all say hi.

Just go back to the fricking rant please.

Sure about that, because Baltimore and Steelers think otherwise. At any rate do you agree with the thread title or not?

The only argument that can be made for the D is that they didn't give up as much points as the Saints offense scored and they created 2 turnovers.
Isn't this the formula to win in the NFL??? Score more than the other team... Not give up more points than u score... and force TOs??? Valid argument I would believe. This may be sig quote material

Why are you getting mad for? It's a discussion, and obviously you don't feel like the D needs to get better. You don't have to participate in the thread.

The Steelers have one shutout all year. Balt has none... And we have the same record as both teams.

Has a lot to do with defense. Defense wins and will always win championships, offense fills the stands. I guess I am in the minority when it comes to not wanting to win in a shootout to the likes of Greenbay because I seen how it turned out.

I didn't say they don't need to get better... That's just fricking stupid. Hell the offense could get better. But you ask anyone here.. Just like in 09, we force TOs, get extra possessions for Drew and the Offense, score a shite ton of points.. Doesn't matter how many yds you give up

We can beat GB 100-99.. As long as we win it doesn't matter.

Aside from the turnovers that year, our D was still playing lights out in the secondary, which in turn created turnovers. I don't recall them giving up 400 yards passing.

I seriously hope all fanbases have people like this because there seems to be a huge concentration of fricking idiots that support LSU and the Saints.

Well I am saying they need to get better, jmo.

Go look you fricking idiot... We were in the bottom part of the league in yds allowed that year... You have no hope in this battle. Just stop

Well no shite they gave up 406 fricking passing yards, but let's give them a pass because the offense will carry the team the rest of the way.
We didn't give them a pass because the offense will carry them. The defense held them to 3 points in the first half while the defense put up 21. Then Greg Williams changed to a prevent zone and let Manning complete 20 straight passes. Later on Williams started blitzing again and manning threw 3 straight incompletions and was stopped short of the record.
Saying the defense needs to improve is fine and completely viable. Your argument based on 406 passing yards is the biggest pile of bullshite I've seen in some time.
ETA: the giants had scoring drives of 67, 84, and 80 yards in the second half. They had 465 yard the whole game. If you take out those 3 drives they had 234 total yards. I'm willing to bet they had at least 34 yards in the second half on drives that didn't score. That means the saints D held Eli Manning and the Giants to under 200 yards for the first half. I'd say that is pretty damn good.
